Backgound & Production

IAM: GEMMA is an upcoming English/American reality documentary series on E! that will premiere on April 17th, 2016. The idea for a reality docu-series was pitched to Gemma in late 2014 by E!'s very own Kelsey Grammer who felt the starlet had a interesting yet misunderstood life story. Gemma met with Kelsey Grammar in Novemeber 2014 and spoke about the idea of a show depicting the pop stars life. After accepting some weeks later, months passed as the team of executives along with Gemma were in talks about the shows context, audience demographic, filming and other aspects of a television reality show. Secretive filming for the show began in the middle of 2015, during the time Gemma was recording "Precious". The docu-series will follow Gemma Kane's career, love life and her relationship with her family that will give you a better outlook on who exactly Gemma is, despite the picture depicted of her in the media.

Gemma is an singer, songwriter, dancer and an aspiring actress and the series will reveal Kane's most intimate moments over the span of months. The show will sum up and chronogolize the beginning of her career, where she started out on Starfactory with the now defunct group "Lashes", to her much publicized breakup. However, the show will mainly focus on the recording and promotions of her late 2015 EP release "Precious" and her family interactions. Gemma also reflects on past decisions in her life and how it shaped people's perception of her, saying "There's more to me than what meets the eye!"

IAM: GEMMA also includes footage of Gemma preparing for a very high profile televised performance, going into the recording studio and even her interactions with label executives at Five Pesky Kids (her current label). The show will also follow the release of the EP itself. Through the show and it's episodes, songs from the EP will be played during scenes when Gemma is not in the studio. There will also be cameos and appearances from a few industry faces that we will easily be able to recognize.

Main Cast

Gemma Kane - The show's main character and catalyst, a well known pop star with the controversy that follows but there's more to her than what's told in the tabloids.

Tori Willis - Gemma's personal assistant and close friend, a hilarious individual who keeps Gemma grounded and laughing. Tori will provide numerous moments of laughter within the show.

Jack Kane - Gemma's overly protective father who can't seem to understand that his daughter is a grown woman. Jack isn't a fan of Gemma's sexual image either and that reason will cause somewhat of a riff throughout the show


Rhonda Kane - Gemma's mother who is in many ways also her best friend but has fallen on tough times with Gemma's father, Jack.

Savannah Kane - Gemma's younger sister who's grasping teenage-hood in the midst of her sister's fame.
