The year is coming nearly to a close and 2016 has proven to introduce quite a few comers that look to be mainstays. One of those new acts are named "The Exhale". The band, compromised of Jayson Gerard, Matheo Gautier, Rafael Blance and Jonas Rosseau. The group has essentially been together since 2014 as a regular group of boys who loved performing and shared the same ideals. Unlike most bands, this group wasn't directly put together, but instead all the band mates have known each other for a long time. (Rafael, Matheo and Jayson all attended the same Junior High, and Jonas and Jayson knew each other through family. They all shared the common interest in performance and singing. The boys came up the initial name of "The Four" and decided to start performing on the street. Their plan to perform on the street was essentially a way for them to use their performance skills to not only put shows on for their fellow residents of France, but as a means to earn extra cash. In the summer of 2014, 'The Four' put on their first street performance in the main district of Cannes, France.

Over time, their crowds grew larger and by early 2016, after a street performance that drew a large crowd in France, Permanent Reminder label head Candice Cortez got word on the boys during her world scouting efforts, and after learning more about them she contacted them. After speaking to the boys and their parents over a chain of weeks with the possibility of signing the group to a management deal, Candice Cortez and Permanent Reminder along with the boys came up to an agreement on a management deal exclusively with Candice Cortez through her CC Management label, and a recording and distribution deal with Permanent Reminder. The group came up with these terms officially on March 12th, 2016. Over the next months, certain changes were made to the band including their name in which they all agreed that The Exhale would be the name of the group, after months of re-branding and essential "star training "The Exhale" and officially introduced. The band was met with mixed to positive opinions with most music outlets calling them "The next big thing". As they became more known, The Exhale joined Kato on his sold out "For The Record Tour". Touring with Kato really gave The Exhale the chance to branch out and really understand the concepts of touring all the while exposing them to an entirely new, and big audience. Going from performing on the streets of France to on a arena tour has already proved that The Exhale are vastly looking to move up the ranks. As the newest group on the block, Candice and PR set up recording and writing sessions for The Exhale and since being introduced to the music word, the boys have been hard at working recording new music for their debut full length studio album, entering the studio with well known producers and some closer to the underground. Now, after 9 months of touring, recording and setting up things for their debut, The Exhale are finally ready to drop their debut single entitled "Firework".

Firework is the debut single by French pop boyband "The Exhale" and will be released on November 5th, 2016 worldwide through Permanent Reminder. The record was produced by Swedish production duo Mattman & Robin and features vocals by The Exhale members Jayson Gerard, Matheo Gautier, Jonas Rosseau, and Rafael Blanche. In May of 2016, after the boys wrote the record alongside additional co-writers June Olson, Brandi White, Raymond Mathis -all the while having meetings with Mattman & Robin about the initial sound of the record, all involved with the record agreed that they wanted their debut to be dynamic, uplifting and something ultimately catchy and memorable, something that could stick to the fans of The Exhale that they have gained so early on. They entered the studio in late May and begin cutting recordings of the track in Los Angeles, along with the written lyrics, and producers. The record itself took quite a while to not only write, but to record to as they wanted everything to be perfect in terms of vocals, instrumentation production and harmonizing for the chorus. This record itself took essentially three days to get completely perfect. After recording, mixing and engineering duties were made on the song. When it was finished, the boys continued to record music for their debut album.

From a songwriting standpoint, the record isn't under to understand. "Firework" is an uplifting pop record that encourages confidence and reminds all it's listeners that they are metaphorically, a "firework". Throughout the record, the boys sing about feeling down, out of place and unsure about one's self and abilities, but they encourage that you turn on the music and feel the rhythm, find that inner you and let it set free and that's what will make you a firework as you burst through life and all it's challenges. Production wise, Fireworks guitar fits well with the funky rhythm, the track offers a nice beat with different synths here, some saxophones during the chorus and even some guitars thrown in as part of the background music. The record has a mixture of different sounds which makes the record quite compelling and distinct in sound. Although the verses are extremely catchy and funky with it's sharp synths and background beats, the chorus really proves to be a true earworm as the big beats really give you a feeling of triumph. The bridge also offers a catchy moment as the boys sing "Na, Na, Na" in unison, over the cascading beats, something sure to get caught in one's head. Finally, the record goes through it's hook and chorus one more time before coming to an end.

The record wouldn't be anything without it's vocals though and the members of The Exhale really bring the record to life with their performances. After the record opens begins with it's catchy instrumental, calling on the listener at once, Jayson starts the song off. Jayson has a very proclaiming voice which exudes confidence. His voice sounds very well over the beats as they glide over them with personality in them. He has great annunciation when he sings his lyrics, making them sound interesting and very legible. Jayson sounds like a pro when he sings and it wouldn't come as a surprise that he is the most experienced in the band and could sing any type of song. He posses strong chest vocals, and an confident alto-range, which goes perfectly with the production. Next, Matheo is heard for the pre-hook. Matheo is a great vocalist and right from when he sings, you can understand that he has vocals that he can go into the higher range and he shows that off when the beats subside slightly before the big choruses as he gives a nice high note. Matheo has a voice that would fit perfectly for ballads but well on something triumphant like Firework. He ends us off before the chorus before it breaks into it's full on musical bliss where the boys sing together, sounding great in unison. Jayson is heard mostly, but the vocals of Matheo, Raffy and Jonas are all very much so heard, after the outer chorus that also features some more funky instrumentation as they boys sing "Firework" is heard before Rafael sings. Rafael has a smoky tone, that has a slightly nasal tone to it. His voice can be very melismatic and emotional, and overall very unique and he brings this during his part of the song as he sings about falling in love with yourself once you've reached your goal, Raffy transitions from his chest to head voice without issue with his final lyric note, showing off some range in his voice. Right after, Jonas is then heard as he sings about "shining above", Jonas has a soft lyric voice capable of fast, simple vocal runs, with a well connected voice. The low notes are dark and heavy, while his falsetto is light and piercing. His head voice is thicker and controlled and his lines are heard well, and he has a distinct vocals. He shows these points during his four lines, making the best of them as well. Following Jonas, Jayson trades places with Matheo and sings the bridge, introducing his wide vocals, showing more range and control as he has the chance to when the beats subside. The song then goes into the chorus as the boys join together. Following this the boys all trade lines, showing their difference in vocals, but in the end, they all blend well with eachother. Following the big bridge, Jayson and Matheo share the bridge and then the boys join once more for the chorus until the record ends.

There will be times you might fall for someone
Or might feel that crush hang
There will be times when you're getting uncomfortable somewhere
and you're trying to avoid eye contact
But baby that's what a loser heart will do
And I hope you're a winner girl

When you feel low just turn on the radio and feel the rhythm
Cause honey music is something which will always pick up your mood
And once you start smiling just keep on smiling forever girl
Cause right now is the moment which will never come back

So dance like it's the last night of the planet
Dance so much that your ecstatic mood brings everyone in ecstasy
Sing like you feel every beat and note of the song to your heart
and baby you'll feel like you're on top of the world
and you'll feel like a firework babe, yeah you'll feel like a firework

Ooooh, you're such a firework
Ooooh, you're such a firework

Once you feel you have reached your goal
Baby girl, you don't know how pleasant you'll feel
You will fall in love with yourself badly too
You'll even find the real you

So always shine like the stars high above
And dream the impossible
and you'll always shine like a firework babe
yeah you'll always shine like a firework

When you feel low just turn on the radio and feel the rhythm
Cause honey music is something which will always pick up your mood
And once you start smiling just keep on smiling forever girl
Cause right now is the moment which will never come back

So dance like it's the last night of the planet
Dance so much that your ecstatic mood brings everyone in ecstasy

and baby you'll feel like you're on top of the world
and you'll feel like a firework babe, yeah you'll feel like a firework

Ooooh, you're such a firework
Ooooh, you're such a firework

There will be times when you feel so down that you're scared to go out
And there will be times when you feel like you're most beautiful

Those are times when you feel that spark
So cross every limit and fulfill your dreams

Don't listen to what people have to say about you
Listen to what your heart asks you to do

(Ooooh)And that is what will make you a firework

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
