(From left to right: Jonas, Raffy, Matheo, Jayson)

And we are on air! And let me just tell you, the lines are blowing up over these young guys this morning! You'd think all your fans would be in school by now. *laughs* THE EXHALE is here in the studio!

*The cameras pan around and each of the boys are sitting across from Ryan on the table. They each have a smile on their faces as they greet the camera*

Jayson: What can I say Ryan? Our Exhalers are dedicated! *laughs*

Matheo: But they better get their butts in school or be on their way to school while listening to this.

*All four members collectively laugh*

Should we go around with the introductions, shall we?

Raffy: Hehe, I will go first! Bonjour everyone, I'm Rafael, but by now everyone just calls me Raffy.

Jayson: And I'm Jayson, I don't have a cool nickname like Raffy over here. *giggles*

Jonas: I'm Jonas, good morning listeners!

Matheo: And I'm Matheo!

It's very good to have you all here today. How are you all doing?

Jayson: It's good to be here Ryan. Me personally, I'm pretty jet lagged...

Raffy: Yeah I think we all are! We just got back from France, which was really amazing.

Matheo: All them were sleeping on the flight, I was up either reading or playing bottle flip when phones were allowed on. Running on like 3 hours of sleep! *laughs*

Jonas: I think I'm still in the process of waking up...but just being here I think we can all say is very exciting. It's the first time we are on this show!!

*All nod excitedly*

You four have essentially blown up all over the world, lately, how has it been?

Matheo: Its been CRAZY. Our lives have changed dramatically over the last year!

Jayson: Matheo couldn't have said it better. It kind of feels like a dream still, I still wake up sometimes and I'm like "I'm in a band that's been traveling over the world, like what? Everything has been moving so fast that I think we're all trying to grasp it until this day. But it's been so much fun and we're doing what we've always wanted to do.

Jonas: So true, yeah.... I don't want to speak for the others but I'm still kind of learning how to get used to being a "celebrity", if you will. Being in the public eye and all that stuff, it's definitely not something you learn how to be over night.... We are very lucky for the opportunities we've been given. It's been a really wild ride.

Raffy: Definitely, definitely a wild ride.

I know you you're signed to Permanent Reminder, but take me back, how did "The Exhale" get started?

Jayson: We've got a really a long history going way back when we were just kids in school but to make a really long story short, we all come from dancing and singing backgrounds, and we thought it would be cool to start performing out on the streets. That's how it really got started.

Matheo: We weren't even called The Exhale before, we were just "The Four"...yeah I know...corny *laughs* but we would make up these routines at Jonas's house and go to little districts around France and just perform out on the street. It literally first started out with like 5 people...but over time crowds just started getting bigger and bigger.

Jonas: Remember my mom used to always tell us "tais-toi" ! When we'd be making up routines? *All laugh*- That means shut up in French by the way! But yeah I think the word really got out there over time since we would incorporate a lot of cool tricks in our performances...

Raffy: People started recording us too. It was very cool how we started out and then how people started to get to know us, we started to get a small fan base just as the street performing group.

Jayson: Next thing you know we got a call from Candice Cortez, who I still to this day DO NOT know how she got our numbers and she wanted to have a meeting and really, the rest is history...

I know it must've been out of this world to get the news that Candice Cortez wants to sign you, I mean wow, that's big. How did you all react?

Raffy: I use to always say that I wanted us to get a record deal one day but it really wasn't a main focus ...we just thought it wasn't going to happen...so when we did get contacted I thought Jayson was playing a sick joke on us!

Jayson: Yup...he's not lying!

Matheo: *laughs* Yeah, I couldn't believe it. It's one of those type of things where you're just like "Nahhhhh" that's not even possible. Most artists you know, have to send out their demos and do so much hard work just to get noticed by one label. I'm not saying we didn't work hard out there but it was definitely shocking to have someone like Candice Cortez notice us and want to work with us.

Jonas: It was a ton of hard work getting out there. We've gotten injured out there on the street! Even though we weren't looking to get signed we looked at it as a hobby and like a job. We barely got paid any money each day but it's really gotten us somewhere.

Jayson: Seriously...we're here with Ryan Seacrest. *laughs*

I can imagine it must've been a process in going from "The Four" to "The Exhale", but what was the hardest part?

Jayson: Nothing has been deathly hard for me but I think the adjustment was tough. Just you know, making the switch as a whole. There was a lot that went into it. It was like overnight we had this huge glow up and make over. You should see our before and after pictures *they all laugh*, we went from normal kids as street performers to actually performing on a world tour with someone like Kato. It became more serious, as it was fun.

Matheo: For me it's tough being away from my parents. I've always been extremely close to my mother and father, even though they're not my biological parents, they're still my parents. I find it tough being away from them for long periods of time so that's the hardest. Being away from family.

Jonas: Toughest part was lack of privacy. I'm not really an open book so being in a position where people want to know everything about you, it takes some getting used to.

Raffy: It was tough learning more English, more fluently. Before this I was not very well in English but I work very hard to make it better.

Your first single "Firework" was released last year and topped the charts. Congrats on that, did you celebrate?

Matheo: We had a big party actually. It was the first time we had a chance to really sit back and celebrate all we did over the half a year that we were touring, practicing and recording. We had so much fun.

The boyband circuit is definitely active to say the the least. What do you think about the current bands out right now and more importantly, what do you think sets you apart?

Matheo: We support all the bands out there who support us. It's good to see so many bands out there doing their thing too.

Jonas: People like to compare and try and make us compete with other bands but we aren't here for that..we just want to make music and perform.

Raffy: We wish them the best!

Jayson: I think one of the things that sets us apart from other bands is that we weren't put together at random in a search, or from a call back not saying that's bad but us ....as the four boys sitting here have a history that goes beyond the business. We grew up together really. And I think that's what makes us so tight knit. We created the foundation of this. But we also draw a lot of inspiration from street culture too.

There are four of you, so I know there must be disagreements, you all spend loads of time together. When there is a blow out, how do you deal with it?

Jayson: I think Jonas should answer this one *laughs*

Jonas: I'm usually the one whose the mediator. *laughs* there's four of us so of course there's disagreements. It'd be a lie if we said we never have issues but when we do, we either give eachother space or argue and talk it out later. It's never gotten to the point of fists though, luckily.

Raffy: Jayson and Matheo have such big loud voices so when they argue it's scary *laughs*

Matheo: You too Raffy! Remember that time when...

Raffy: No..no!

Jayson: *Laughs* We're like a family of brothers. We get angry eachother but we always find a medium and a way to bring it back. We all know what's at stake and we want the best for eachother and the group so we find a way to always talk it out in the end. We've seen too many great situations turn really bad and sour because fame got in the way. We want to avoid that.

What about the process of writing and recording? How do you go about figuring out who writes what, who sings what...in a group. I know it's much more tedious then just being solo.

Matheo: Verrrrrrry tedious. We all write our music with some great co-writers, but it really depends.

Jayson: Like we might finish writing a song all together but we'll leave it to management, most of the producers of the particular song, and sometimes our vocal coach to tell us who sings what depending on the specific track. Just to avoid any conflict on who sings what or who wants to sing what. We tried doing that in the beginning and it just didn't work.

Raffy: It sucks sometimes when a part you really like goes to someone and you're just like "Aw!"

Jonas: I just go with the flow really.

Matheo: Jonas is like super chill about everything. That's why we call him grandpa.

Gonna ask a burning question now, last week the hashtag, and I read #JusticeForMatheo was trending all over Twitter. How were your feelings toward that?

Raffy: I thought something happened to Matheo! I got scared. Like maybe he got arrested or something....

Jonas: *Laughs*

Matheo: I saw it and I didn't really find it necessary although it was sweet of the fans who want to hear me more, but we're in a group. We all have strengths snd weaknesses and a particular part or song may fit someone's voice better. A part, may specifically suit someone voice to sing. It's not to say there's favoritism or a leader. We all have a chance to standout on the album, we all sing. That's just how it is.

You also came out as gay last year, was that a tough decision for you to make?

Matheo: It was, but I always felt that it was necessary that I'm up front and just went for it, I didn't want to live in the public eye keeping that a secret. I wanted to get it out as soon as possible. I was battling with understanding my sexuality for a really long time. I spoke to the boys about it and they were so supportive. So I took a deep breath and wrote a letter to the fans. I also hope that the fans and supporters who saw me do that will feel more confident in doing the same in their situation.

The fans, and even people who have negative things try and pit you against one another, is it ever tough trying to keep any competitiveness....if there is any, to a minimum?

Jayson: We simply don't compete with eachother. You know? For what? We're in a group, it's not gonna do any good for the group to start competing with eachother. Candice told us right away that if any of us are in this for a personal benefit then we shouldn't even be in the group and should pursue a solo contract. None of us wanted to do that. So we're in this together.

Jonas: I think if we we started to compete, everything would just go down hill.

Matheo: We've got too much of a good thing going, and plus they're my brothers!

Jayson: We know there's going to be some individual aspirations down the lane. Like Raffy did a really cool photoshoot for a magazine cover just a few months ago but we were all supportive about it.

Raffy: Thank you *smiles*. We just agree that the band comes first.

Now we know you guys have a bit of a surprise for the fans, a brand new songs that's never been heard...premiering right here On Air! Can you tell us about the song?

Jonas: It's called "I Wanna" and it's an energetic record that's going to be on the album. We know this one will make the Exhalers dance and we wanted to play this here for the first time because our fans have been so patient...

Matheo: Yassss. This ones a bop! It's about being with someone who gives you this false picture of a perfect relationship but then you realized what? You're nothing I thought you were and now I'm gonna do what I wanna!

Raffy: Hahaha yeah...This is one of my favorites.

Jayson: Huge shoutout to Christopher Hudson, he co-wrote this with us. It was nice working with him. So if you're listening Christopher, which we hope you are...you the man!

Exciting! Without further or due, here's an album cut from The Exhale's debut album called "I Wanna"

PART 2!

And we are back On Air right here with The Exhale. We just premiered their song "I Wanna", we hope you caught it because...Wow! Catchy as ever! I actually really like it, I know the fans will to. Thank you for premiering that here.

Jayson: Thank you Ryan!

Matheo: Told you it was a bop..

Jonas: We're hoping the Exhalers enjoy it, sure they will.

Raffy: Thanks Ryan. Hopefully it makes you dance. *laughs*

Before we move on, I want to personally congratulate you on your nomination for Best New Artist at the 6th Fan Choice Awards! How does it feel being noticed by an award show dedicated to the fans?

Matheo: It's great, we've been working really hard so to just be noticed is an honor in itself.

*All nod, agreeing with Matheo*

What do you think of your chances of winning?

Jayson: It's really up in there. There's some really great new comers we're up against so it can really go to anyone.

Raffy: It would be so nice to win! But if we don't we are still happy to be nominated with great people!

What about this highly anticipated debut album? Is there a title chosen?

Matheo: Yup the album title has been chosen for quite a while now. *Looks around at the other band members before nodding* we decided to just tell the able title here today because we feel The Exhalers deserve it. Drum roll please?

*The band members start lightly slamming the desk along with Ryan*

Matheo: We decided to name the album FIREWORK, which is really a dedication to our first single which was really dedicated to our fans, and we felt that album title really signifies how we feel right now and how the album is too.

We've been exclusives all morning from you guys! Should definitely have you here for often. How has the recording process of the album been so far?

Jonas: It has been a really long process but to see it all come together has been really nice. We all put so much effort in writing and being involved with the entire album process that it feels really personal to us so we know the fans will enjoy it.

In terms of sound, what will "Firework" bring to the table?

Jayson: Its a pop record with R&B, and dance influences. It's so youthful, and explosive in so many areas that the title really embodies the album well too, and embodies us in general. It also gives all of us a chance to come together vocally but also have moments where we have a chance to show off our strengths vocally. The beats, the lyrics, and topics about love and such we know will be so relatable to people. We wanted to make an album that we know our fans could jam out to, party to and feel empowered listening to and I think we really hit the mark with Firework.

Wishing you all the best of course. Is there a date for the album chosen yet?

Raffy: We have a few final touches then album will be mixed. That's what takes time. We are hoping to have it out in May.

Jayson: Definitely hoping for May, but Exhalers don't hold us to it. We promise it'll be out soon.

Matheo: Justice for Firework to be honest...

*They all laugh collectively*

We're slightly running out of time but I want you all to stick around before we drop the new single! We're here talking to Exhale about their upcoming album "FIREWORK" in stores this May! Now this new track "Invisible", caused a bit of controversy
22. but essentially, what's the song about?

Raffy: It's about feeling like you aren't being noticed by someone you are really interested in...

Jayson: Like you're hoping you're gonna be noticed but it just ain't happening.

Matheo: You ever felt like a boy or a girls curve game was top notch? That's what Invisible is all about.

Jonas: I think everyone has been through that before..it's not fun. *laughs* that's why we thought this could be something people'll enjoy.

You got some criticisms for your choice of lyrics, how did you feel about that and what do you have to say about it?

Jayson: We got criticisms from someone we thought was a friend. I mean, don't get me wrong....everyone's entitled to their opinion and people can voice that opinion too. Not saying ..."just because you're a friend" you have to like everything we do. You can voice your opinion. Sure, voice it on Twitter...that's cool, but to go on a tangent about it, tweets later and keep going on with it as a set up for your new single ....that comes ironically days later is just lame to me. Don't use The Exhale as a promo bracket. That's not cool.

Jonas: Preach JayJay...

Matheo: It just taught us that you can't trust everyone in this business. It just shows that personal benefit is more important than friendship. F it.

Raffy: Clean version is out too! *giggles*

I personally find the song powerful when I listen to it, is that all of you during the chorus?

Matheo: Thanks Ryan! That is Jayson serving falsetto in the chorus. But for a part of it, our vocals are all layered together, we harmonize.

Jonas: There's an example of what we were talking about earlier. Jayson has a higher register and can hit the falsetto best, so he was chosen to sing that part. There's no favoritism.

Jayson: Im flattered guys really. But exactly, the favoritism nonsense is totally made up...

Now right before we premiere it right here on air! Are there any last words you'd like to say to your fans?

Raffy: That we love our fans the Exhalers and thank you for supporting us and giving us all this success. We can't wait for tour this summer too and see everyone.

Jayson: Like Raffy said. We're planning a great tour this summer and it's going to be so much fun..oh and of course to our label, none of this would even be possible without the great people over there. Sheesh, I feel like we're accepting an award *laughs*

Matheo: Personally want to thank you for having us Ryan and to everyone listening right now, thank you for tuning in!

Jonas: It's really been fun being here. Be on the lookout for the album and we'll be at the FCA!

It's been a pleasure boys. Thank you for coming today. Make sure you go out and get The Exhale's new record "Invisible", it's out now and be on the lookout for their debut album "FIREWORK"! Right before you go, would you like to do the honors ?

In Unison: YOURE LISTENING TO ON AIR WITH RYAN SEACREST AND HERES OUR BRAND NEW SINGLE INVISIBLE!

Title: "Invisible"
Release Date: March, 2017
Genre: Pop, Synth-Pop
Record Label: Permanent Reminder
Songwriters: Jayson Gerard, Jonas Rosseau, Rafael Blanche, Matheo Gautier
Deanna Mitchell, Nora Fellicia
Producers: Burns, Mischke
From The Album: TBA

The Exhale have been on a promotional trail since they entered the business last year and have been working tirelessly to staple themselves as mainstays in this industry. With the boyband market clogging up, The Exhale are making their presence known as one of the hottest boybands to make way in the industry. With Jayson Gerard, Jonas Rosseau, Rafael Blance, and Matheo Gautier starting out as street performaners in France to touring all over the world, the boys want to continue to make a name for themselves in a music business that is not only fickle, harsh, but constantly changing. After being discovered by the music elite in Permanent Reminder, the boys have been hard at work recording their debut studio album. In September, after recording in France, New York City and the United Kingdom, The Exhale released "Firework". The song became a big hit for the young artists and reached #1 on the Airplay Charts. Cleverly released on "Fireworks Night" in the U.K, the song also topped charts all over Europe and found success in the United States as well. This was a massive feint for a boyband, and The Exhale became the first band since Weekend to get a number one record on the Airplay Charts.

After their debut release, The Exhale's album had been pushed back in order to record more material and release at least two more singles before the untitled album would be released. The boys collectively decided to release a song sometime in the new year and follow it off with the final record before the album would be released. The Exhaled penned entitled "Let You Go" and the track was specifically chosen as a second release and a follow up to Firework, because unlike Firework which is mostly looked at as an uplifting, floor filling club banger, promotional record "Let You Go" gave the boys a chance to show off their vocal abilities slightly better than the dance-floor heavy debut single, all the while maintaining that catchy youthful sound that The Exhale is slowly became known for. Let You Go, although not as successful as their debut single, became a moderate hit and reached #4 on the charts, which is quite successful for a promotional record. After Let You Go, The Exhale went on a promotional trail of Meet & Greet's to give their fans a chance to see them in person. An uplifting moment for their 'exhalers' as well as the bandmembers, the boys returned home to France for the first time since being signed and was met with huge, overwhleming reception that showed just how much the The Exhale had become sensations back in their country. A moment to remember, the boys took to social media to speak about the massive audience the boys drew. Days later and still buzzing from the amazing reception, The Exhale decided it was time to release their next official single from their album. A record that some of the members are calling personal favorites.

"Invisible" is the second official single from The Exhale's upcoming untitled album and rumored to be the final single taken from the album itself. The record follows their debut single "Firework" and their promotional record "Let You Go" which all managed to attain success on the charts. The record was penned by each member of The Exhale along with Deanna Mitchell, Nora Fellicia. "Invisible" was recorded in The United Kingdom in late 2016 with producers Burns, Mischke and is rather different from their previous releases. "Invisible" is a pop mid-tempo that can even be considered a ballad that speaks about being unnoticed by a crush and figuring out exactly why and how they could get noticed by this good looking individual all the while questioning their visibility. Their obviously not being noticed so they consider themselves as being invisible. The record features a sultry and synth heavy demeanor that comes packed with an outburst of beats especially in the chorus, but purposely slow and laid back so the boys could show off their vulnerable vocals leading up to the big chorus that has "Jayson" cooing "Invisible-ooh-oooh-oooh" in falsetto, that could easily get stuck in your head. Although the record is slow, it has all the makings of a mainstay on mainstream radio as it's youthful and an all around smooth record that is vulnerable but rather uplifting in sound.

Jonas says:

Quote:
This song is a song that I really enjoy because it's different from the other two songs we put out. We were confident and triumphant in "Firework" and really playing the macho type in "Let You Go" but, here, we're the opposite. We play the vulnerable side and and it was a blast recording the song with the boys in the U.K. It's something different that people can get into. I hope everyone likes it!

Jayson says:
Quote:
We really had to figure out where the hell we were going to go with the new single. We recorded a hell of a lot of songs for the album and we just didn't know how to narrow it down really until we figured it was time that we gave our fans a big ballad. I can't even really call it a ballad when I listen to it because it's got so many different cool synth beats that our sick producers worked in for us! This is my favorite single so far because it makes me feel good when I listen to it and it's so relate-able to me and to all of us. When we wrote this, we all had a moment where we had someone we really liked but couldn't get them to notice you! So if we all had moments like that, then we can imagine there's thousands of our exhalers who can relate. So I'm really happy this was chosen as the next single. Vocally, I also feel like this was really great for all of us. It has a production that really gives each of us a chance to stand out vocally, so yeah!

Matheo says:
Quote:
Mannnnnnn. We were jammin' out in the studio when we were done recording this. Invincible is for the shy boys and girls. This is the one for the people who aren't in your face and quick to approach anyone their attracted to like a lot of people today. This is the opposite of the thirst trap. Invisible is such a cute song because I know theres so many people who have dealt with this before. Also, Jayson absolutely kills it with his falsetto in the chorus, I just couldn't get up there like him so it was nice to hear him really shine here and Rafael sounds so adorable during the bridge where he speaks. He has the the deepest French accent so it's nice to hear our roots on a song since he has a spoken part. Jonas has such an interesting voice too! I'm just so proud of all of us on this song! I know you will be too Exhalers! xoxo

Raffy says:
Quote:
A cool song that the boys and me did. I even have spoken part that I did and it was cool. I wasn't so sure about it since I didn't know if people will understand me but after a few tries I got it very well and everyone was proud of me. Its lot easier to sing and not have an accent but when you speak, it comes out so much! But I think they wanted me to do it since it was a small part and they said it will be unique and um different if I do it. I really enjoy this because everyone has a moment in this song!!

"Invisible"

Tonight's a party, I'm drinkin' a mile minute
And sudden-ly, a stranger caught my attention
She's got the right shape, perfect thighs
I don't know what imma gonna do tonight, do tonight
And then she comes through, she struttin nice and sexy
The smell of her perfume, peaches and sweet berries
She got the whole room, lustin' over her tonight, her tonight.

She's sittin over there, manglin' with all of her slutty friends
Not once did she give me any eye contact, eye contact.
I don't know what I'm gonna do tonight, do tonight

Wondering what should I say ?
Hope she's wondering what I'm doing
But why can't you see me, here?

Because I'm standing right here (hmhm)
Lost in my gaze once I found you
There's just one big problem, I swear I'm...

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna be invisible too you just walking through the room
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh

No rules, just dancin' a mile a minute
Can't see if you, are watching me but
I know I am watching you
You don't know what I wanna do tonight, do tonight
Just wanna lust you, just wish I had the chance so I
Could show you, one night and I swear all your dreams would, come true
You don't know what I'm wanna do tonight, do tonight

She's sittin over there, manglin' with all of her slutty friends
Not once did she give me any eye contact, eye contact.
I don't know what I'm gonna do tonight, do tonight

Wondering what should I say ?
Hope she's wondering what I'm doing
But why can't you see me, here?

Because I'm standing right here (hmhm)
Lost in my gaze once I found you
There's just one big problem I think I'm...

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna be invisible too you just walking through the room
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I wanna be catchin stars in our hearts
Jumping from cliffs, and dancin' in the dark

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh

Uhm uhm yeah, notice Me
Oh oh oh oh, notice me
Uhm uhm notice me.....
notice me

Because I'm standing right here (hmmm)
Lost in my gaze once I found you
There's just one big problem, I'm...

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna be invisible too you just walking through the room
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I wanna be catchin stars in our hearts
Jumping from cliffs, and dancin' in the dark

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh

Spoken
Finally take a deep breathe, take a few steps
Take a chance, I walk over too you
There I catch your glance, I say hello
We begin a conversation, Look in your eyes
Could this be a potential romance?

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I don't wanna be invisible too you just walking through the room
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh
I wanna be catchin stars in our hearts
Jumping from cliffs, and dancin' in the dark

Invisible, oooh, oooh, oooh

Song sounds like:

Christopher: Can't wait for the album, boys! Playing "I Wanna" on the radio was also quite a nice surprise. Was a pleasure working with you guys. Always wishing fellow bands all the success in the world. It's a tough business and market but I think you're all doing just fine!

Joshua: I know that you're referring to me and my views on the song. Not going to bring up my thoughts again because everyone already knows how I feel. There's no need. I am disappointed that you felt the need to throw me under the bus like that, though. I am not out to slander you guys and in no way am I using you for promo. I'm very friendly with you guys. We know each other. I even messaged all four of you after my tweets about Invisible just to clear up any confusion. I said that I am still your friend, have nothing against you, that I don't want to turn this into a war and how my only issue lay with bad word choice. To go on the radio and act like I'm some sort of snake AFTER I informed you of my intentions is pretty low.

OOC: Sorry for bringing up a two week old post but thought it deserved acknowledgement lol. I love long interviews like these and it brings a lot of realism to the forums. I think doing promo like this and having your characters speak at length is all part of the fun of RP. It really gives you more room to bring them to life and it also shows how dedicated you are, putting in the time and effort to create all of this. Having the Twitter thread allows us to have fast interaction and it's easy to do all of our promo and character building on there now so it makes a nice change to read proper interviews like this every now and then. Old school lol. Great work!! :) The character of Matheo is adorable btw lol
