Gory: I wrote a song about my darkest years, which is basically a story about my life. I drowned myself in absinthe and explored my dark sides. We tried to make a very ironic cover with a white background, but the font is in black representing the darkness of the song. We didn't have the band name on the cover, which is a new thing we're doing. Not that that many people buy physical singles anymore, but still.

Poo Peter: For the B-side the rest of us got together to write a song based on "Close but no cigar", me and The Bitch wrote the classic "Glenn Close But No Cigar" and it became the B-side, we also recorded Robin Banks' song as a demo and we might record it for the next single.

Darkest of Years (Lyrics by Gory I. Lids)

Verse 1

Days have gone wrong
Days have gone blue
Days have been many
Days have been few
Days have been hurtful
Days have been true
Days have been good
But they're overdue

Chorus

These have been the toughest days
These have been the hardest nights
Been walking on the path
Where there sure ain't many lights
I've been feeling all alone
On my own with all my fears
I guess I have to admit
These are the darkest of years

Verse 2

Nights have been scary
Nights have been bad
Nights have been strange
and nights have been sad
Nights are much darker
Nights are not fine
Nights almost over
Another night ain't far behind

Glenn Close but No Cigar (The Bitch and Poo Peter)

Verse 1

We tried to make a deal that went across nations
To not kill those 101 dalmatians
To not make furcoats for rich old ladies
fashion designers and snobby little babies
And then, here comes Glenn
Cruella Deville is here to pay the bill
She's a rich old movie star
You may have lots of regrets
Smoking those clove cigarettes
But you still have no cigar

Chorus

You're Glenn Close, but no cigar

Verse 2

And you try to look like Glenn too
But you're not really sure when to
stop and when to carry on
you looked for a Nashville country singer, now you'll marry one
And then, look at Glenn
shining like the sun and we're whining
in the back of the car
You might strike a pose
just like Mrs Close
But you still have no cigar
