With the last release being in 2017, the name Barbie Doll had vanished from the industry. With a past of criticial acclaim and controversial music, the singer-songwriter made quite the name for herself, creating a base almost like cult following. Almost three years have passed, but the anticipation for the singers return remained, especially on several social media platforms. Even without any presence whatsoever anywhere.

"Shut The F*ck Up" was recorded throughout the almost 3 years, this one particularly being recorded in 2019. With dozens of music being written by Barbie Doll, this one was the song that made her want to put something out again. After finishing this song in a rather short amount of time, the singer said; "While I'm not sure if this song will be on my upcoming big project, It is something I wanted to put out for my fans hear. While it's still very much me, I feel like it shows a different side of my work."

While the song itself is celebrated by fans, alot of them, but also critics, have pointed out a much more "mainstream pop" sound for Barbie Doll. Her past work did have pop sounds, but had alot more experimental elements to them. This one is a lot more subtle, though the lyrics rather not.
