Not really a fan of them. I prefer Omar and Cedrics work in At The Drive-In more. I do however like "The Widow".

So, I gots I today and from an initial half-listen I can say it's actually pretty good. It's strange because it's very much vocal-led, more of a pop-oriented thing than anything previously. I must say though, and this may seem like a weird complaint for this band, but lyrically I think it's getting more and more nonsensical. Frances the Mute, although it's fairly abstract, all the metaphors pointed at the interesting central concept of the record. Great weird lines like "Twenty-five wives in the lake tonight, raw bark in the water of the marble shrine.". Unfortunately, in the vocal style of Octahedron, lines like "But my heart it asks just one more time, are you still a mess?" just seem a little lame.

But hey, it is very much TMV does a mutant version of a mellow pop record.
