Ready To Fly is the official remix of the first single from Tika May's upcoming debut album Strictly Busines which was released on May 8th under Imprint of Big Diamond Records/Warner Music and a new exclusive management deal with La Familia Records.
Tika May's signed an official deal with La Familia Records shortly before the release of the album. The contract signing came after Payton was impressed by Tika and contacted her when he heard the Ready to Fly song on the radio. Ready to Fly's solo version has so far peaked at #12 on the Chart Heat Singles Chart giving Tika her first Top 20 record as a new artist. Ready To Fly is about she having good time and flirting with some men while trying to get your groove on with your friends. The song also talks about trying to get over an ex and make him jealous but to also to remember that there's no drama wanted, only a good time and good vibes in the club. Ready To Fly features an extremely catchy thumping, bass heavy production with an electro-hop influence as Tika sings sensually and proclaiming over the club ready production. Payton opens the song up with a catchy verse that shows off his rapping skills . The song was written by Tika Mays,Ne-Yo & Nija Charles in the Fall of 2019 at recording studio in Miami, Florida & Abbey Road Studio In London, United Kingdom but the remix was recorded in May of 2020 and is quite different from the album version of the son since Tika's label as the time felt the song has potential, but the lyric is not like radio friendly. They wanted her to fly off to London to finish the song but new lyric this time and after the song was released Tika was signed with La Familia and revamped the single version of the song with a new artwork and announcement of the song. Gosh i didn't know what happening to me cause next morning i was eating some yogurt for breakfast and i got a phone call from Payton and oh my goodness i was almost freaking out but i have to stay cool cause i don't want him to like notice me freaking out i just have to stay calm and hear his detail. Honestly i didn't know what going on i think my label give him my number or so yeah he said Yo Tika I hear your song on the radio and stuff so i call your label and we talk and it went good and they told me that you was biggest fans of me and u have my song, um very surprising but that cool tho and i wanted to them that isn't okay for me to like call you or some about this deal and they was yeah yeah sure they just gave me yo number and yeah look so i have to ask you something. i say um sure Payton what is it you wanna ask me about something and he says Would you be interested for yo boy Payton to be in your remix and signed to La Familia Records as joint deal after he say it i couldn't handle it anymore i scream because i was happy and i imminently said yes and that how i got signed to his label as joint deal which it was amazing and we went studio and i finally get a chance to meet him in person since i only see him on TV and shows so really i was relief and i see him so down to earth i for real i mean i really thought it was a dream but in reality no i don't think it is dream or made up it felt like it real and i really happy. so producer want him to lay down the rap verse the one he wrote and we all play fight,laugh and joking and when we hear it the final version of remix i was blown away so yeah working with Payton is cool and amazing and i will say this my new music is coming soon so yeah i part of La Familia records and i can't wait to do new music when i go back to studio cuz i don't know if people are ready to hear new music cuz i may have a little trick under the sleeve just to get them excited so for now i have to focus on album but yeah I so ready for this.
