Blast from The Past is the debut single by girl group Uphoria. The song was released worldwide on September 18th, 2020. Uphoria was formed by Universal Music Japan, with the intent of being a global pop artist. The label cast a diverse four-member group from multiple south Asian nations and the United States. After their formation, Uphoria signed to the global label, FivePeskyKids, to manage all aspects of their career outside of south Asia. The group began working on their album in early 2019 with multiple in-house producers and songwriters from Pesky. Although production was going well, the label was still developing the group's rollout schedule, leading to delays all through the rest of 2019. Beginning in 2020, Pesky finalized a tracklist, media-tour, and marketing rollout. The debut was set to happen in the third courter of 2020, due to COVID-19 delays and precautions. Uphoria is now ready to showcase their talent and become a global artist. Their debut album "Persona" is set to be released in early December.

The song was written in 2019 by Orion Washington, Theresa Newton & Prue Tyler. The acclaimed songwriters all worked with the group throughout 2019 and early 2020. Pesky was set on having the album be entirely produced by in-house writers and producers to maximize profit and familiarize the new group with both departments. Uphoria was continually meeting with teams of songwriters, who even pitched in to help the group master their writing abilities. A writing camp allegedly wrote over sixty songs for the girl group, one of the largest writing projects for a new act in Pesky history. The song is produced, mixed, and mastered by Orion Washington and LosOscuros. Orion Washington was assigned the head-producer of the album.
