So Malik how are you?

I am very well thank you, very excited to be here. Thank you for having me!

No problem so, What is it like to raise your child & being a singer at the same time?

Honestly it hasn't been that difficult I have a lot of support around me, plus his mother is still in the picture...not in that way we aren't together in that sense but my ex wife and I are on good terms for the sake of our son, so I have been quite lucky in that sense because when I am not caring for him I can get things done with my career and whatnot...if I was on my own well then I can't even imagine the struggle of that.

So how was it like to be in love with no drama then drama came along so like how do you deal with it?

Honestly the whole things a bit of a blur, I mean my ex and I got together off the back of what was meant to just be a one night stand but then well both of us just couldn't stay away from each other and then one thing lead to another, then we found out she was pregnant and at the time we was both young, she was 19 and I was 21 and then we decided that the best thing to do was to move in together and get married...fast forward and our son was born and to be honest that was when the cracks began to show, he was born premature by almost 3 months not only was he expected to die but so was my ex, thankfully they both made it....the cracks began however when our little one was almost a year old and my ex wanted to try for another baby and I for one wasn't ready for another one and two she knew full well the doctors told her that having another child was impossible for her, so in the end we would just argue over who loved our son more and it just got very toxic she began to sleep around with various guys and this is where it get complicated because despite the fact that she was told she couldn't have more children she actually does with a certain someone in the industry they have never made this child public but let's just say this guy already has a child and is known for being a sleeze bag that sleeps around, I will leave it at that I feel like I waffled on a bit there.

Who are you dating now?

Woah you guys sure do, do your research and digging don't you, yeah okay I am currently dating someone her name is Rose you guys may know of her from a certain girl band called Trinity Love...but it's very early days, she's a lovely girl and we are having fun getting to know each other, but yeah it's not anything serious as of right now.

Have you dealt with hate/rumours before?

Oh for sure I have had a few hate comments and people coming into my DMs with negativity but I tend to just block it out and not read them because you either like me or you don't I am who I am and that's that basically as for rumours also had my fair share of those too like there was a lot of people being like he isn't as tall as he claims or that has been reported and well I really as six foot four as for other rumours I don't think I have come across any to my knowledge if anyone has any though please do enlighten me I do love to shut down trolls.

Got it. OK um how would family describe you?

Uh they would describe me as a fun, loving, caring goofball who doesn't take himself or things too seriously I am the family clown basically and I am absolutely fine with that.

Alright let move on to music, your debut album is called "Falling Into Place" so what is meaning behind the album?

That's a very good question, the album has had various different names while I have been creating it, the reason it is called Falling Into Place is simple because I feel like this album really introduces me to the fans and kinda slots me into my place within the industry because I don't feel like there are many guys our there like me right now, sure you have ya Joshua Grimme, Kato and various other but I don't feel like I have a sound that is similar to any of there's I like mixing it up, people quite often tell me I have a voice that is made for rock music and I take that as a compliment but I also like upbeat dance music so I feel like I am kinda combining that rocky voice with pop music, at least I have attempted too any whether it will pay off, well that remains to be seen.

You already have your debut single out so explain to the people who haven't heard your song yet, what it is about?

Well it is one of the first songs I wrote and instantly knew it was gonna be the song that introduced me to the industry and to the fans, the songs message is simple it's about finally making it in whatever profession or field the listener takes it in, for me obviously it was about making it as a musician but as a father so it has many layers and can be viewed and related too from many different perspectives and points of view and that to me is great because it makes the song relatable and that is exactly what I was going for.

Have you ever play your music to your family, friends or anybody at all & if so then what was their reaction to your music when they heard it?

I have played my entire album to Rose and she seemed to like it but maybe she was being bias, I have also played it for a few friends and again they liked how it flowed and came together so hopefully that translates into the fans loving the album and going out there and purchasing it, but even if they don't I love the album and for me the numbers and figures don't bother me if I love the music and put out music that I love then that's more important to me than the track being a big hit or anything, though of course having the big hits is nice don't get me wrong it is nice.

Well recently you signed to Ruff Round Records & how was it to be signed by Mr DJ Hurricane?

Honestly....honest truth it absolutely blew my mind, I release "I Got It Now" independently with no label or anything, he heard it and was instantly like I like this I wanna sign you and at first I thought he was having me on, I swear I thought he was joking but then he asked me to meet him at his offices and there in front of me was a contact and honestly I was just so shocked also so humbled that he believed in me so much like he knew he was taking a massive risk I was and still am kinda nobody and he took that leap of faith so I will be forever grateful to him.

How does it feel to have your debut single at number 3 on the charts as Top 3 singles?

Again totally mind blowing, like I was not even expecting it to reach the top 20 let alone number 3 behind two absolute legends of this business, to be right up there in those high spots on the chart honestly is crazy I still have to pinch myself to be honest its like a dream, this time last year I didn't even realize I had a great singing voice it wasn't until my friend heard me in the shower and they was like dang you got a great voice that I even thought about a career in this industry so to be up high in the charts with two legends honestly I am humbled and grateful to every person out there that has liked the song and supported me I can now hold my head high and say I am Malik Jarvez the singer and not just the ex husband of Ally Hansen or the ex boyfriend of Lexi Marie Taylor and that feels good because I now have my own identity, thanks to this song.

Who are your top 5 artists that you listen to & why?

Oh that's a tough one for me my number one faveorite has to be Ryan Ross Hernandez, his just so unique and different to pretty much anyone else out there, have also always loved the music that the Weekend lads make plus my son likes to dance around and bop his head to them so clearly he likes them as well, Chicago Nobody again has something very unique and fresh about him, I feel like I am being a bit sexist here but I am not because Ellie-Grace Summer is up there as a fave too literally there is not a single song of hers that I dislike she has so many layers and blends so many genre's and I like that about her the most she isn't afraid to break boundires and try out a new sound on her albums and that takes guts and she has no fear in doing that and I am totally here for that....last but not least I have to say Tika Mays she and I are similar I feel because like me she kinda blew up out of nowhere and her music is so catchy and current.

What song do you sing at Karaoke Night?

It depends on what mood I am in and/or how drunk I am, if I am drunk i'll get up and sing something cheesy from the 90s maybe a bit of Aqua or Right Said Fred but if it's early in the night andI am not that drunk I might bust out some classic Queen or Spandau Ballet it varies.

Would you play your song while making love?

Maybe not my current single but for sure there are songs on my album that I'd totally play in the bedroom while I am making love for sure I am not going to give an insight into those tracks but 100% I'd have sex to my own music for sure and I have no shame in admitting that I mean let's be honest who hasn't probably done that right?

What can we expect from you in 2022 like what your goal?

The goal is simple get my next single out there, then my album and then if this virus stops messing everything up get out on the road and maybe go on tour because that is something I have yet to experience playing to alive crowd and honestly I have heard from many many singers that singing live is one of the best feelings in the world and they favour it more than actually recording and I loved recording so we'll see if I have that same mentally once I get the chance to play to a live crowd.
