Running is the second single recorded by "Former" K-pop group Kyle, and is the second single to be produced under the Dalhouse Entertainment umbrella which also release his debut single Tokyo Street Life. Since then Kyle has been featured in others' works most noticeably Aikya Balan's highly sexual Bag of Bones. This year you have seen members of the group doing more things apart than together even though the talk around the group is that they are still very much a collective group and are still together another member Danny has been doing things independently from the group as well. Kyle is also to be in a relationship with singer and songwriter Ella Avila, which he was also featured on her song Impresióname the remix.

the song has a mellow flow to it to start off, coming in with flutes and 808, you can hear the autotune of Kyle's voice as the music begins to play with his ad-libs of (yeah) and (Uh). It has the feel of him being in a daze or not coming in clear much like this year that hasn't been unclear in his direction. One thing that is striking in this is that he doesn't come out rapping. This isn't a rap single, unlike his first single, showing off this different side of him singing instead. As the music continues it keeps this floating feeling throughout as he sings until it gets to the bridge of the song where the beat comes in. Once it gets to the hook the music gets more grounded in the 808s and beats as the floating flutes seem to fade and by the 2nd verse it stays in this comfortable pocket that it has created for itself. When it gets to the third bridge the music opens up with more natural sounds like violins and harps that bring this angelic sound back to what was once a classical start to machine back to classical and you hear more of an autotune voice of Kyle. A really cool juxtaposition of the lyrics to the music, where the only time you hear Kyle's voice clearly is through when the music it hit with 808s but once the 808s are taken out you hear the autotune of his voice.

Speaking about the lyrics the message in this song is Running towards something/someone. In the beginning, Kyle talks about how he has been feeling stuck, trying to get out of this feeling. He is staying positive and keeping negativity at bay the bridge is that he has found himself but now he is looking for this thing and he is running towards it. He talks about he believes that his good deeds will be rewarded and that this isn't in vain if he continues to work at this it will pay off and he will find it. Towards the end, he says that this will made or break him and will he create the life that is meant for him before saying he just has to do it.
