”Sexy Red Heels/Tacones Rojos Sexys” is the brand new single from Puerto-Rican American singer-songwriter Malik Jarvez and serves as the lead single from the 27 year-olds upcoming second studio album rumoured to be called
”Memoirs From Puerto Rico” and see the star dig into his latino heritage as the single is set to be released in both a Spanglish version in English speaking territories and a full Spanish version in Spanish and Latin American markets. The single was written by Malik himself and was produced by Emellio Estrada and Dávid Gomez whom created the overall Reggaeton and Latin vibe of the track
”Sexy Red Heels/Tacones Rojos Sexys” explores Malik’s naughty side as the track explores the feelings of a guy whom he sees a hot woman dancing in red heels and making it look sexy. The track has a run time of three minutes and nine seconds as Malik swoons over the funky Reggaeton beat that flows throughout the song.
Critical reception for both versions has been generally favourable from music critics with some dubbing it his best track to date. Maisie Smith of DigitalSpy wrote in her review. “First off can we take a minute to appreciate his glow up god dang, but this track is amazing honestly Spanish is such a sexy language and I am so glad that both versions have Spanish in them personally, I think people forget that his, not a native American his a Latino at heart and I am here for it, superb track!”. Daniel Maxwell wrote in his review. “Okay this track is fire honestly when he said he was going to be bringing his Latino roots into his follow-up debut I was a little worried but if this is anything to go by colour me excited!” Nancy Garcia wrote in her review. “Ay Papi, Malik is coming in hot with this one, do I think it's a little generic in the reggaeton genre, yes but who cares, this is a breath of fresh air great lead from his second album!” Cameron Xavier wrote a less favourable review of the Spanglish version of the track writing. “Okay so the full Spanish version is straight fire and I can see that going over so well in Latin America and Spanish-speaking countries but I feel like the Spanglish version could struggle to gain traction purely because it's not something you hear or see every day but maybe that is what will set it apart who knows I just fear this could have been a poor decision and he should have just released the English release in full English.”
Malik wrote:Surpise guys, so I know I teased this track at Christmas and it's finally here, honestly I know this single is a huge risk but I wanted to remind my fans that I am not a one-trick pony and remind them that I am also not a full-blooded American but I am in fact Puerto-Rican so English is technically my second language, I have honestly had so much fun with not only this single but with my second album as a whole bringing back my roots and heritage has been super fun and I hope that my loyal fanbase can get behind this single and album because I feel like this album is a step up from my first and I am still blown away by how well my debut album did, so without further ado this is the lead single “Sexy Red Heels” or “Tacones Rojos Sexys” whichever you listen to id appreciate the support much love
