“Scream Like A Banshee” is the second single from American singer-songwriter Cameron Jacobson and marks his third release overall and follows on from his #2 hit single “Maniac”. Unlike his previous single “Scream Like A Banshee” is a completely original track that doesn't contain a sample. The single is the second single to officially be lifted from the 22 year-olds debut studio album. “21st Century Boy”. Which is set for release later this year. “Scream Like A Banshee” was written by the 22 year-old himself and was produced by Louis Valachez and Marko Marks, whom up until this point had no producer credits to their name marking this both their producer debuts.
Lyrically “Scream Like A Banshee” is a naughty little bop, the 22 year-old is obviously trying shed that innocent boy image that he seems to have. The main topic of “Scream Like A Banshee” is about sex and bedroom antics and using the term Banshee as a euphemism for making a girl scream in the bedroom during sex. The track has a total run time of three minutes and five seconds and sticks in-line with his previous single as the single has a strong Latin pop feel which seems to be a popular at the moment within the industry.
Critical reception to the track has been mostly positive. With Emily Jackson of DigitalSpy writing in her review. “Oh my girls are gonna need to have a fan or something on hand after this one, this track is a naughty little bop but it's a total jam, Cam surely knows who he wants to be as an artist with all of his releases so far having a Latin vibe and that's refreshing to see”. James Harris of NME wrote in his review. “This track is a bop and lyrically doesn't surprise me as it might others Cameron is 22 years old of course he's going to be singing and bragging about his skills in the bedroom what young man doesn't in this day and age, overall though this track is another sure fire hit for Cameron.” Claire Daniels wrote in her review. “Oh wee this track is spicy, but it's also fun a cheeky and as a young man this kinda of track will definitely resonate with his adoring fans most of whom I can only assume are female, fantastic production on this track as well as that opening beat which is unique and funky.” Greg James wrote in his review which he gave the track one of its few less positive reviews. “This track is good no faulting that but with the likes of Malik Jarvez around this track could full short of its expectations plus when are this young bucks gonna stop singing about driving a girl wild in the bedroom like we get it you think you have game in the bedroom but how many of these young bucks actually do, but overall it's a decent track, not award worthy but not skipable either”.
Cameron Talks “Scream Like A Banshee” wrote: So single number three overall but the second from the album is “Scream Like A Banshee” hehe this one is a little cheeky I'll admit but it's a fun track and was one of the first tracks I actually wrote for the album. I have this image of still being that young naive boy who was 18 when he entered the industry and then stepped into the big brother house and I wanted to sort of shed that image with this track, I'm not a young naive little boy anymore I'm a 22 year-old grown man at this point in my life and this track even references that, so I hope you guys love and enjoy blasting this one - Cam :)
