Star is her second single from Tika May's upcoming third album "Precious Lover" which was released on Feb 28th under Imprint of Ruff Round Records and a exclusive management deal with La Familia.
Prior to releasing "Star" Tika just released her first single "Dance in 2022 and she already has a planned to release her album in 2023 of summer but however she put the plan on hold due to desire to have her own protege and manage her own artist as she secretly launched her private company called "So Pleasure Entertainment" it could potential to be launch public soon and she went away for a while as she focus on her protege "Spicy Starz" she create an K-Pop girl group and also to continue with her album session. She did appears in few events but haven't even release music since Oct 2022 for 2 years. in Jan 2025 she was announce that she'll be performing at UMA as she preparing for her new music to be release.
The song was written by Tika Mays and produced by Mike Sabath at recording studio "Hansa Studio" in Germany and was recorded in Jan 2024 and is has different sound from her other album as she going forward with the sound she going for. Tika made announcement about the song and with artwork of the song. "Star" is about the how it went from being industry plant to trying to get back to herself which she refer to her old label "Big Diamond" as she diss them.
