You girls always seem to look so picture-perfect! *jealous* Anyway, I totally have to get this. Seems like my kind of pop.

ALBUM REVIEW

UK music website Popjustice recently had an exclusive listen to the brand new sophomore album Happily Never After by Dynamite and gave the following track-by-track review:

"Alpha Kenny Body"
- This ultimate club track is the perfect way to start off the album, it's fun, it's daring and it's sexy, something that their debut album was lacking of. This has been on repeat in the clubs and with good reason. 5/5

"Happily Never After"
- After the party has just started, Dynamite tone it down quickly with next track "Happily Never After", a soft pop rock ballad where the girls pour out their emotions in the song about a horrible break-up. Maybe a little too cheesy for some but pop fans should be a fan of this track. 3/5

"Lipstick"
- The second single from the album and with good reason. This too has some pop rock infleunces, only this time, Dynamite pick up the tempo in this in-your-face and fierce girl power track about putting your lipstick on and getting ready to dance, pop perfection. 4/5

"Dominatrix"

- Dynamite stay true to their pop side as this track could have easily blended well with the rest of their tracks on debut album Rainbow. The track provides a brilliant bassline and incredible pop hook, this has all you need and grips you from start to finish, some metal fans may even be singing along to this track as it refuses to leave the listeners head, catchy, club-friendly and amazing. 5/5

"Rich & Famous"
- Dynamite call out those musicians who only want to be rich and famous. This is a nice pop track but that's about it, it's filler in our opinion and nothing more. Very forgettable and is a contender for worst track on the album. 1.5/5

"Obsessed"
- Dynamite sing about how they are obsessed with a love interest in this track, not a very exciting subject matter, but the use of the vocoder over a hot urban beat make this one of the albums highlights. 4/5

"Work"
- A club track and nothing more where Dynamite tell the listener that they better work on the dance floor. Vocoder is used to the max and the girls introduce us to Robomite. The lyrics become hard to understand due to this but the catchy electronic beat will grip the listener for a few listens but will grow stale over a short period of time. Good but not great. 3/5

"Heavily Broken"
- Dynamite run back into the pop rock side with "Heavily Broken" and sing about a cheating lover. This is the loudest, rockiest and heaviest sounding track on the album and definitely does not sound like a Dynamite track, but is this a bad thing? Certainly not. The emotional and loud vocals over the rocky track really grip the listener from start to finish in this rocky love ballad and you can definitely feel the pain in the girls voices. Emotional and a great track that listeners could possibly relate to. 5/5

"Censored"
- The girls sing about how they wish to be unleashed and to be free with no restrictions in this track. It's an uptempo, angry track with a blend of pop, rock and electro and it gives us quite a dark vibe. A great track for the clubs and a perfect response to those who hated lead track "Alpha Kenny Body". 4/5

"Gold Digger"

- The girls finish off with "Gold Digger", a brilliant electro-pop track that doesn't take itself too seriously. Dynamite take the role of a gold digger and funnily sing it as if there's not a care in the world to them as they list all the things in the world they desire such as expensive cars, nice clothes and luxurious holidays. Sounds similar to "Womanizer" by Britney Spears and is a perfect song to bop your head to. 4/5

Overall: A strong sophomore album and it looks like Dynamite are here to stay. A few cheesy tracks may turn listeners off but there's less of these on this album than their debut so this gives us a sign of a bright future for the group. Providing electro-pop tracks that will stick in your head for ages, R&B tracks with fresh urban beats to bop your head to and pop rock tracks for listeners to see a more serious side to Dynamite. This is a perfect blend and overall makes for a fantastic must have pop album for 2009.
