The first single from solo singer/drummer Rayne Berry's sophomore album is to be "Colourful Angel".

"I haven't recorded anything in a long time," says Berry, "not since the release of 'Have Your Cake'. I've just been too busy, what with acquiring one more child after Rachel Catelli's death. But I've been writing loads and loads, and I can't keep it in me any more! Also, I need to pay for this." Berry points at his chest and wrists, where there used to be a road map of scars from many years of feeding tubes. He has had professional scar removal. "Some people may say I'm too superficial - but heck, so do I, and recent skin rejuvenation is only the tip of the iceberg. Looks have always mattered too much to me."
But though he's always been beyond obsessed with the way he looks, beauty is only skin deep, and Berry is way deeper. "He's the best lyricist on Dark Blue Music," says the management group CEO, James Cruz-Bishop III, "and that is a tall order, being as we've got such greats as Raven Comatose and Bikki on our books. Rayne has such a way with emotions and words, he can mix them perfectly. I wouldn't fault his ability as a vocalist or drummer, he's good, but the real gem in Rayne's music is the lyrics."

"I know it's not cheerful," says Berry, "and could strike a little controversy. But hopefully it'll send a few shivers down a few spines. With love."
