Reports have come in today that Billy Maddison, the 31 year old musician imprisoned for the murder of Krista Briskett, died this afternoon following an attack from fellow inmates.

After further research, however, it was discovered that Maddison is still alive, but that rumours of a beating were true. It was originally thought that he was targeted because of his fame, but it appears that may not be the case.
Tommy Johnson, Billy's 35 year old cellmate, said that he thinks the attack was "over drugs. These guys had been bugging him for ages to get some drugs brought in for them, but he refused - not because he couldn't but because he's determined not to get caught doing anything he shouldn't. He's determined to get back home to his family and doesn't want to jeopardise that. I think that's also the reason why he didn't try to fight back - because the screws would blame him. I've seen him in the gym, the guy can fight. If he wanted to KO those guys, he could've done it".

When asked how Billy was coping inside prison, Tommy said "he's doing okay. He's been inside before, you know, he knows the way it works. I was really surprised meeting him actually, he wasn't how I thought he would be. I thought he would be really up himself, but he's not at all. He's really funny and down to earth. He hasn't got this massive 'superstar' ego - he spends most of his time talking about his family. He has pictures of his wife and kids on his wall. She's really, really beautiful. In fact, some of these "top dog" guys have been offering him privileges and freedom from beatings if he can set them up with Gemma for a night, which has nearly started quite a few fights. He really loves her, and the two kids, even though I don't think one of them is his, but he loves the 3 of them all the same. Other than that he spends his time writing or singing and is really talented. A pretty good album will probably come out of this experience!"

When asked if he believes that Billy Maddison was guilty of Krista Briskett's murder, Tommy said "knowing him, and seeing how much love he has inside him for his family, I personally don't think he would be capable of murder, but then again most guys in here have done awful things but seem like stand up guys when you meet them. Also, from what I've heard of this dead girl, if he did do it we should be thanking him - one more wacky bitch off the streets!"

We will be updating you on Billy's condition as soon as we find out anything new!! In the meantime, why not comment on our message board :)

Gemma Maddison walked into the prison, handing over her visiting order, along with her bag and belongings before a dumpy female guard stepped over to search her.
"You know the rules right?" the guard asked, sternly. Gemma nodded, before she was led through to the visiting ward, the sound of metal gates slamming following her through the corridors.
She sat down on the hard, plastic chair, wincing slightly at the harsh chair on her still sensitive back. She looked around at the dirty, dusty floor and peeling bars of the sliding doors and shivered a little, both from the cold and the atmosphere. She hated it in the prison. She could feel the evil, she could feel the murderers and rapists on the other side of the bars. She shut her eyes and tried to think about her kids: Caleb, now 3 years old, attending nursery now. He came home every afternoon talking about the latest colour he learned, the story he was read and the painting he made to bring home for 'daddy', his brown eyes sparkling as he brushes his floppy brown hair out of his face. Kai, only a year old was now on the verge of walking and made her smile every time she saw him. He looked just like his father: he had the same piercing blue eyes, the same petite nose and warm, wide smile and his mannerisms were already taking shape. He liked the same food, he had the same intense stare as Billy had when he was really concentrating on something, he loved music... Looking at Kai always reminded Gemma that it doesn't matter where Billy goes, he will always be a part of Gemma's life.

Finally, Gemma heard the gates slide open again and she looked up. She gasped and then lost her breath as she barely recognised the man walking through the door. Billy walked slowly across the room towards her, wearing tracksuit bottoms and a baggy grey jumper, with the yellow prison belt draped over his body. He sat down and Gemma saw that his eyes were black and the swelling almost sealed his eyes shut. The skin around his eyebrow and lip was split open and his skin was patched with bruising.

"Hey baby", he mumbled through his swollen lip, taking Gemma's hand in his. She didn't know what to say, she knew he would look bad, but nothing could have prepared her for this. She had never seen Billy looking anything other than perfect, even when he was comatose, his hair always seemed clean and shiny, his skin was clear, his lips delicately shaped in soft red curves.
"Oh, my God," Gemma whispered, finally winning her battle to grab a breath.
"It's not as bad as it looks..."
"Not as bad as it looks?! You could've died, Billy!" Gemma said, her voice beginning to go shrill.
"Would that have been such a bad thing?" Billy asked, looking down to the floor and pulling his hands back.
"Don't you dare say that! No matter what, you have a wife and two children that love you and are waiting for you to come home!" Gemma said, tears forming in the corners of her eyes.
"What kind of father and husband can I be, huh? Stuck behind here for the next 20 years! What can I give any of you?! You deserve a husband who is there for you when you come home of a night, who can look after the kids and teach them how to be men, who can be there to comfort and support you. That's not me".
"What are you trying to say?"
"I can't be who you need... I saw you and Dean at the trial. He was the one looking after you and the kids, doing what I should have been able to do. Maybe he should be the one with you. He is Caleb's dad, after all..."
"Billy, Dean is my friend. You are my husband and I love you, okay?! I will be waiting for you whether you get out in a week, a month, a year, or 20 years, it doesn't matter! When I married you, it was for life and this won't change anything. I swear, you will be back home soon, okay?! We will make people know that you didn't do it, okay? I promise you," Gemma said, desperately. She didn't like where this conversation was going.
"Gemma, it's not going to happen. We need to stop kidding ourselves that it will. I've been sent down for murder, Gemma. Even in 20 years, the chances of them thinking I'm safe to be released will be slim to none. My life is over, yours doesn't have to be."
"It won't be! Not as long as I have you!"
"Gemma, it shouldn't be this hard! The amount of trouble we've had to be together... somebody is trying to tell us we just shouldn't be together..." Billy said, beginning to stand up.
"But it's never beaten us! This is just another bump in the road, Billy! We will still be together at the other end!" Gemma begged, tears threatening to spill over as the lump rose in her throat, threatening to stop her talking.
"I'm sorry. I'm not going to put you through this", Billy told her.
Gemma reached out to grab hold of Billy and he swiftly touched his lips to her forehead, just for a second, before pulling away and beginning to walk back towards the gate which will lead back into the main prison.
"I love you, okay? You'll thank me in the end," Billy whispered, before the guards opened the gate.

Gemma watched Billy walk away, shell shocked and scared, as she allowed her tears to finally spill over. Was her marriage over? Had somebody made him do this? Why had he given up hope of ever seeing the outside of the prison cell again? And most of all, if he had just given up his wife, children and hope, what on earth did he have left to live for?

It had taken Gemma two days of plans, lies and calls to finally get a call put through to Billy.
She was holding on the line for a good five to ten minutes before she finally heard the click.
"Hey, Gemma?"
"Hi, thank God I've finally got through!"
"You said there was an emergency? To do with the kids? What's happened?!" Billy asked, worry in his voice.
"Oh, well, no. The kids are fine. Well, Caleb had a doctors appointment because he's come down with a chest infection but he's fine... it was really just the only way they'd put a call through to you", Gemma explained quickly.
"So you told them there was something wrong with the kids?!" Billy said, obviously angry, but talking quietly so the wardens didn't hear him.
"Like I said, there was no other way to get a call through to you - and you weren't about to call me any time soon, were you?!" she argued. "I still have no idea what the hell happened on Thursday".
"I'm sorry," Billy whispered.
"Sorry for what? For saying things you didn't mean or for ending our marriage? Because I don't know which way I should take it", she said, feeling tearful, scared of his answer.
"I don't know. It's not fair to keep you in this marriage, though. You're twenty years old, you'll be fourty by the time I come out, if not older. Do you really want to spend the best years of your life tied to a man you can't call when you need to, who you can only see once a week, who you can't even touch when you do see... do you wanna spend twenty years with no..." his voice dropped even lower. "Twenty years without sex, no more kids... nothing".
"Billy, I married you because I love you, not because of what you can or can't give me". She paused. "Do you still love me?"
"Gemma, come on..." he whispered.
"Billy, just tell me. Do you still love me?"
"Of course I do! I've always love you", he told her, honestly.
"Then that's all that matters. I'll wait as long as it takes, because I want you, okay?" she explained.
"Really? Something tells me Dean could do just as well in my place".
"God damn it, Billy, really?! Do you know what, if you really think I'm like that, then yeah, maybe we shouldn't be married after all!" Gemma said, shrill. Now she was the angry one.
"Look, look! I'm sorry, okay?! It's just like I said. You're still so young, you need somebody there with you. I just don't want you to get bored waiting, that's all".
"And I want you to stop acting like this is the end of the world! You didn't murder Brisky, and there's no evidence to say you did - "
"I still got sent down for it, though, so it's not like evidence makes any difference!"
"That doesn't mean people will stop trying. We'll find out what really happened. There's a good chance you will be out of prison very soon. You need to start believing it. I'll do anything, okay? Anything to find the evidence we need to free you. You just need to trust me", she told him.
"Okay. I'll try".
Just then a voice interrupted from the background.
"C'mon, Maddison, that's enough call time. Hang up and get back to the cells".
Billy sighed.
"Honey, I've gotta go", he told his wife.
"Do we still have a marriage?" Gemma asked.
"Yeah, we still have a marriage. Just don't give up on me".
"I won't, I swear," she promised.
"I love you," Billy said, quietly.
"I love you, too", Gemma replied, before hearing the click that told her Billy had gone. She, too, hung up the phone and placed it back in its cradle, smiling. Yes, she wasn't giving up, not by a long shot.
