Does anybody else have one of these in their town? They're amazing =D They get set up for about the 6 weeks before Christmas, I think, and they do everything!! Like German chocolate and fudge and hot chocolate with rum, mulled wine, and loads of food I can't pronounce... And the lights and massive merry-go-round... I love it :-) I don't think Christmas will be the same without it when I go back home! Plus the German guys are so much fun, they come out after work and get drunk with me and my mates =D Anyone else have this or is it just the South Coast? |

There's probably something like that in good ol' multicultural Brum, though I haven't come across it .... I hope there is now. |

Christmas is an amazing time of year, my town does actually have a market similar but it's not just German. Every saturday in the winter i go down to the market early in the morning and i go and buy myself a couple of films, Chocolate and Coffee and i just have a totally lazy day, it's what makes my winter. |

When I still lived at my parent's we lived really close to the German border, so when I was 11 or 12 years old we went to a bonafide Weihnachtsmarkt in Cologne. Lots of fat people, fat food, more fat people, and more fat food. I liked it.

Here in the U.S.(at least everywhere I've lived) we have entire stores dedicated to practically every holiday, which are restocked for different holidays throughout the year and set up months before the actual holidays. I honestly had no idea that "christmas markets" were uncommon until this topic was brought up.
