2010 is a very special year for all who took part in creating the madcore genre. 2010 marks five years since the genre "madcore" was born and bred! Post your favourite madcore memories here, be it Moronics, Mashfest, MCT or anything else madcore (OOC : any bikz RP excluding the IMAs, or any other bands/artists who were playing Madcore Tours, signed to RvM/CBM, or just who identify as "madcore"), let us know! We're planning to show a video at the film festival on February 9th describing the best (and worst?) things about the five-year pain in t'arse that has been this genre. If you want to be part of it, get talking!
Three cheers for five years,
-Jimmy Cruz-Bishop & Katie Kairiri.

What Is Madcore?
The term "madcore" was coined in 2005 by Moronic Changeling. Basically, it means "mixed genre". The bands who really don't give a damn what genre they play, they can play anything, or will try to. It also includes rather strange mixed genres, such as The Nightside Bikithan Cat Collective's "feline emo", or Firecracker 47's "jazz emo" or "jizz'mo" (which is a subgenre of feline emo). Other examples of madcore artists include Raven Comatose, Madbirds and Gillians, but there are and have been many more.

Mmmm...I've often though whether The Infidels! fitted into the 'madcore' genre...well we are completely stark raving mad...we play everything from doom, funk, psychedelic, pop, black metal all hideosuly mixed into grindcore. Cool stuff. I throw my support behind the grand concept! Just because of the Madbirds..
