theres nothing i like more than a good film so lets talk about them damnit!!!
managed to see slumdog millionaire last night which was fantastic, not only because its the first time ive had the chance to go to the cinema in five months but also because it was a V.O.S.T showing (which means it was in English with French subtitles), which only made it tricky when they were speaking hindi and i had to work out what they were saying from the french subtitles...
but anyway, a brilliantly shot and made film that i would quite happily give an 8/10 my current guests have also told me that its swept up at the oscars which doesn't supprise me...
anyway, comments, other films you want to talk about etc etc?
i know watchmen has been released now, but im not sure when (if at all) it will be shown in the backwater of a french mountain where i am... :( |
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like: Hey, what are you doing here? and im just like: Oh you know, hunting elephants |

Well, I saw Che Parts One and Two recently. One was pretty good. Two was pretty... dull.
Off to see Watchmen tomorrow, without having read the book, and with the baggage of having not especially enjoyed very many comic book movies. |

I want to watch Slumdog Millionare, everybody is talking so much about it and it won so many oscars that it made me curious. Last movie I watched was "4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days", and it was a pretty good movie, I liked it. I have downloaded Che and some other movies but I'm just too lazy to watch :/ |

A bit off, but whatever. Has anyone read the book A Clockwork Orange? Is the ending different from the movie? I still can't believe the ending was so bad, compared to such a great movie. |

Yeah, saw both Che films back-to-back on New Years Day and really enjoyed them.
This afternoon I saw The Watchman and enjoyed it very much. As far as comic book superhero type films go, it's up there with The Incredibles & The Dark Knight as my favourite. |

I've just watched Requiem for a Dream and I had to comment here because it's probably the best movie ever made about drugs. It's just fucking brilliant, you can feel the agony of the characters on the scenes. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to watch, do it. |

Similar theme, also a very good film. I love Requiem, one of my favourite films... |

I saw Gran Torino a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed it. Clint Eastwood at his hard assed, cranky old self. |

Just saw Tomorrow When the War Began. It's an Aussie film based on a series of Aussie books about a group of young people who went camping in the outback one day and returned to find the the country had been invaded. Looks like it will be a trilogy (obviously). Very good film. Edited by user 12 September 2010 10:51:30(UTC)
