It has been reported that the 4th Street Band could return towards the end of 2010 to embark on a new tour.
The group agreed to release a live anthology album in December 2009 called 4th Street Band: The Live Anthology Vol 1 and it's possible that Vol 2 could be out sometime later this year. The album charted at No 8 in the USA album charts which suprised pretty much everyone including the band members.

"It's pretty crazy really, We weren't initially gonna release a live album because we didn't think it would do very well and we weren't available to tour in support of it. But we just decided that we had nothing to lose so we put it out there and it hit No 8 in the USA in the first week, It's great acheivement".

They've always said they wanted to return to touring and release material in the future but it was looking unlikely with Max Armstrong touring regularly with The Junction. But their tour is nearing the end and the gang have expressed an interest in returning with the band.

"A return is possible but the main sticking point is each members current commitments so it's gonna be difficult to make it happen, But never say never"
- Lucy Tyrell

This news could come as a suprise to many of their fans but who knows if it will be happening or not, It's certainly going to be a busy year for Max Armstrong who after touring with The Junction was set to take a well deserved rest with his girlfriend Juliette Moore and his brother and sister's whom he lives with after the death of his parents late last year.

Should they leave things the way they are or should they return and try to make a real go of it?

"I thought this is a situation which needs a bit of clarity because the rumours are just gonna keep coming if i don't address this issue. Ok so here's the situation with the possible return of 4th Street Band. We are all aware that there is pretty big interest in us returning because of the success of our Live Anthology Vol 1 album and although each member of the band wants to get back together and start touring again soon it's becoming really difficult because myself and Robin Krieger will be on tour with The Junction until May 2010 and we've decided that we're gonna take time of after the tour because of exhaustion and also Robin is gonna be a parent for the first time around September - November so he wants to spend time with his family for a bit around that time so thats one reason why it won't work.
The other reason is that each member of 4th Street Band have prior commitments touring and recording and other such commitments. We have all arranged to meet up around June and discuss possible ways for us to get back together, and one possibility is that we tour with the guys who don't have any commitments yet (Myself, Joshua Perry, Lucy Tyrell and Tom O'Brady) and we also introduce some new members to temporarily replace the guys who can't make it (Robin Krieger, Scott Dylan and Robbie Stimson) but as I've probably said over 50 times nothing is happening on the subject just yet and that hopefully we will return soon but at the moment nothing is confirmed. Thanks for taking the time to read this statement and as always - Peace And Love".
