most of you probably have no idea who he is butman, this has hit me hard.. C.R is one of my all time ski heroes and practically re-invented the sport by himself.. SKi halfpipe and hucking massive spins in the back country all started with him and now he's dead after a silly fall...

shit.

Wow. That sounds like a jolly unpleasant way to die, it must be said.

Also, the idea of skiing on a halfpipe strikes me as...well not impossible but certainly very difficult. Do they have different skis for it or something?

twin tip ski's baby..

i own a pair of APO starsky's myself for park and pipe...

halfpipe is scary as fuck... in a normal pipe you have maybe a one and a half vertical wall of ice before your out of it, but the pro pipes have four meters of vert first.... No way am i that good.
Tanner hall is a great guy to watch in pipe and in the backcountry...

to be honest im not sure it is a horrible way to die.... He was doing something he loved, and i reckon after knocking your head that hard you going to be out big time so theres not much pain.... i don't think i would mind something like that.

I've always wondered, how do you even practise something like that to the point where you know you're going to land such a thing. It always seems like there's a major potential for risk, and I don't know how you internalise what you're doing right and what you're doing wrong once. It's certainly beyond my bravery.

start on normal jumps, then go for a quater pipe and finally take a brave pill and attempt to smash some air in a half pipe...

having said that, its nigh on impossible to actually get air in a pipe at first, the most i have ever manageg is about four inches of proper air out of the pipe...
