Charger are a rock n roll band from Birmingham the following band members are:
Jack Bishop - Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals
Derek Russell - Bassist and Backing Vocals
Phil Jones – Drummer and Backing Vocals
Story of the bands formationThe band met one another at each others gigs with other bands they were involved in at the time. Jack Bishop was lead guitar player for a band called
‘Haunted Souls’ a black metal that jack didn’t really wanted to be apart of but he and the band came to mutual agreement that he’ll play for the band who were desperate for a lead guitar player and Jack needed live performance experience and more playing time.
After months of performing with
Haunted Souls Jack left the band and started watching local tribute rock bands in especially Motorhead and AC/DC tribute bands where we would go on to meet Derek Russell who was a bass player for a AC/DC tribute band called
‘TNT’ and also met Derek Russell bass player for the Motorhead tribute band
‘Snake Bite’.
After a few weeks of meeting and drinking after gigs, jack decided to invited Derek and Phil for a drink at his local pub so the two could meet and after hours of talking and drinking they decided to form a group influenced by their love of AC/DC, Motorhead and pretty much all things Rock N Roll and the formation of Charger was formed.
The band have some shows in eastern Europe so check them out, obviously there will be some AC/DC and Motorhead covers but the band hope to start playing some of their own material once they find a place to practice and jam etc.
