Ryan Ross Hernandez Career Transition?

It is no secret that since his solo career has begun Ryan Ross Hernandez has sort-of become a big time celebrity heartthrob. In late-2007, Ryan moved to Hollywood which is when the whole douchebag phase started. Adding to his celebrity status, over the course of three years he has dated five A-list actresses and his part-time job as an actor last year. After selling 13 million records as a solo artist and 27 million with PANIC!, countless sold-out world tours with both projects, it is safe to say one of Hollywood's most-wanted bachelors has gotten to the point of his career where he can do whatever he wants. Well, probably if you'd ask him, he'd say he already says and does anything he wants.

But now, Hernandez could be making a permanent career transition. In 2009, Hernandez showed off his acting and screenwriting skills when he wrote and co-started in the film "Something's Missing," and while it wasn't a huge box office hit but Hernandez was acclaimed for both his screenwriting which was described as an "emotional rollercoaster," and for his acting which while critics praised it, they thought the wrong cast was around him (or maybe it was just because he was hooking up with his co-star, Minka Dumont, off-screen and dating the producer, Emily Williams). And that critical-acclamation seems to have carried on past films as NBC (an American television broadcasting network), has offered Hernandez a starting role on an upcoming medical drama series tentatively titled, "Uncertain Pains," not only that but in addition if he decides to join the project he will also become one of the writers for the show. No details of the contract have been released but one strong clause is that Ryan must sign-on for the entire season which means in addition to the 16 episodes being recorded this Spring if the show is ordered for more episodes he will have to come back mid-season to record and write.

Before Hernandez can run off and develop his acting career farther, he will have to at least release one album this year which his music label, Spice Records, ask for before he can leave his recording deal with them. Although the contract just says it has to be released this year not that he has to go out and tour in support of it and with Hernandez's loyal (woman) fanbase it selling records wouldn't be an issue.

Now if Ryan decides to make this career change, it would be with risk since the television market is always hanging in the balance and while Hernandez is well-known in the music world he is still sort-of a rookie in the acting business.

We were able to talk with a close friend of Hernandez who told us that Ryan is "ecstatic," with the opportunity at hand and although he hasn't said it to our source in a definite answer, his close friend says that if they had to guess they'd say Hernandez will take the offer as Ryan's main goal is to expand in acting since money isn't a big deal to him at this point of his career.

Hernandez has not come out public with any indication of his future endeavors. So what do you think, will Ryan be able to withstand the hectic schedule of being both a musician and an actor? Or will he have to give one up one of his dream jobs and dedicate himself to one? Maybe even a better question is if Ryan will be able to keep his relationships with women on the series in a professional stand up or will he mix professionalism with pleasure again like he did with his feature film?

(OOC: Trying to get something started here. Got a couple of ideas but writers block is killing me these days.)

Stephanie Fierce: I don't think you should just leave music. If someone has a talent for acting then why not give it a shot (if you have that talent), however don't leave your other talent. And as a hard working person, i would advice to not do both at the same time. It's really hard work and it is almost impossible. Since you take role of a character nothing else but what that character is matters. At least if you want to really be a good actor. I'm pretty sure you already know that. Just saying....

" You have a lot of talent and I think you should use both talent to make different projects better, I know you are into acting, but why leave your first passion behind for acting?"
