They're getting better live, during Decemberunderground era they SUCKED live but they got better so Ima see that shit, plus GD mainly plays songs from American Idiot and Dookie plus a couple from other albums so I wont mind because honestly they're the best live band I've heard in my life. |

I can understand if people hate them simply because they don't like their music. But if they hate someone because they are "Sell outs" then they should be ashamed of themselves. I don't consider them sell outs. People sometimes take different routes simply to improve their music.

Warning was an amazing album but in comparison to American Idiot it totally tanked. |

I would go see them since Green Day is still pretty bad ass live, and AFI's latest album is enjoyable. But no dates anywhere near me so, I can't. |

Um I don't hate Green Day because they're sellouts, because even though they signed to a major label in 93' (the album came out in '94) they changed their sound without anyone asking them to which means technically they aren't.I hate Green Day because the quality of their songs has decreased since 2000.They tried to experiment (I assume to seem more mature musically) but it sounds pretty bad.American Idiot was really a return to old Green Day in a while because it's a lot more straight forward than Warning or 21st CB which is why I enjoy it somewhat. |

I used to really like AFI. Still listen to Black Sails In The Sunset, The Art Of Drowning & Sing The Sorrow to this day. But Miss Murder was poor and Decemberunderground was worse. And that Head Like A Hole cover man, what the fuck were they thinking?
Incidentally, "selling out" is a horrendous cliché. It's only applicable when a band blatantly change their sound to adapt to what is cool as opposed to a natural progression. I don't think that applies to AFI, and well, I don't think you can say Green Day have really change all that much since they started.
Sometimes it's just "hey, that album is good, the stuff after it though, I don't rate". |
