From Seatle's Music Scene website
...And The Band Begins To Play...
For two indie bands, tonights show melted my face off...well almost melted. Seatle has been in need of a good rock show that doesnt cost more than a tank of gas, and Saburben Sunrise and Cooper were just what the Dr. ordered.
The first band, Cooper sounded like a cross between Husker Du and Teenage Fan Club. They didnt rely so much on showman ship (it was obvious they are a young band) while some of thier songs were a bit all over the place, the ones that werent, were fantastic. with a little experience they could be a great act.
Then the main band came on, Saburben Sunrise. Almost a completely different style of rock music, makes us wonder how these two bands decided to tour together. This band's set was a bit more thought out in comparison to Cooper's garabe band-esque antics, and even had the crowd singing along to thier *hit* song thats been getting decent air play on our local station.
After thier set, Cooper came back on stage and BOTH bands played a firey rendition of Boston's "More Than A Feeling" to a thunderous applause, which answered our previous question on why these bands are touring together..the answer? rock music. be it buzzy garage rock or well thought out anthems, its good old fashioned rock n roll at its finest
looking forward to both bands coming back soon
Aaron: wow what a good way to kick off the tour! not one bit tired and looking forward to the rest of the dates! |

For a new band, you guys ain't bad. Although I do like Cooper more, Saburben Sunrise has decent music too, I see a good future ahead of both with a bit more practice and experience! -JC Anderson(Reckoner/Lead Guitarist) |

Aaron: Hey thanks for coming out and giving us a chance! and not to start a modesty war here, but Saburben Sunrise CLEARLY owns us as a band, and cater to mainstream alternative alot more than we do! its also an honor to be compaired to the likes of The Teenage Fanclub and Husker Du, both acts have influenced us greatly.
Tom: Saburben Sunrise are way better looking too...
Brandon: last nights show was a near wreck in the sound department, my Fender amp blew a channel and i had to lock the tremelo bridge on my Jaguar in order to keep it in tune. oh well, all bands have problems early in tours right? |

True, I mean we were much worse in terms of our instruments, there was this one gig when JC's Les Paul got accidentally plugged into a bass amp since the sound technicians were inexperienced, one strong strum to the guitar and the bass amp exploded! Well the bass amp was worn out though, the point is that all bands have problems and its up to us to deal with it.. -JPC(Reckoner/Bassist) Edited by user 05 April 2010 16:13:46(UTC)

Ya but most of the bands out here are harder music. We are more of an Pop-Alternative sound if you want to say that. So its just a little harder to make it in the industry |

"Genres don't mean shit. If people like the music, they like it and vice-versa. PANIC! is one the most successful and critically acclaimed bands in the last five years. And we were like one of the most genre confused bands. We were a alternative rock/pop punk/emo band, and all our four albums went at least platinum. Don't worry, tweens are gonna love your music and I'm not saying that 'cause I'm just a douche."
