Interview of the Undead!!
In recent months the thrash metal band Legion of the Undead has awed audiences with their intense live performances and heavy music. They just began their trek across the United States for their tour to back their newest album, "Eternal", with fellow metallers Hellspawn. We got a chance to sit down with them to discuss their future.
Revolver: Thank you guys for joining me. So how is the tour going?
Lord Hammerspawn: It's going great. The fans are really enjoying the show and so are we.
Revolver: So you guys are going to be putting out a live album next month. Tell us about that.
Lord Hammerspawn: Well we have always been primarily a live band. In our early years we never got much radio airplay and we self released all our albums so distribution was a pain in the ass. We really depended on our live show to show people what we are all about. Despite the struggles of promotion, our third album, "At the Gates of Sodom", went gold in the US. And we actually just got the call that Eternal has gone gold in the US as well. We wanted to release an album to showcase our live show to those who haven't seen us. Hopefully this will open people up to our music.
Revolver: So are you self releasing "Live or Dead"?
King Nothing: We actually just got signed to Dismembered Corpse Records so they will be releasing our album.
Lord Hammerspawn: We are very happy to have a label of this caliber backing us.
Revolver: So what are your plans for after the Live or Dead Tour and live album of the same name?
Lord Hammerspawn: Well we are actually going to be heading into the studio to record our next album. We have begun writing a little for it and its definatley going to be different from our previous albums. We are really trying to mature as song writers and step up our game.
Brother Enoch: We are recording the drum tracks in our home studio in Indianapolis and recording the rest of the parts in Kingdom Studios in Ft. Wayne Indiana.
Revolver: So will there be a tour to support the next studio album?
Lord Hammerspawn: We are actually planning a massive world tour. We also want to add alot of different things to our live show. We want an experience similar to Pink Floyd's The Wall Tour. Lots of multimedia, video, and props and such. We are pumped.
