"The end is imminent... be prepared."

Most well known for hi amazing mound of hair and being the lead vocalist of extreme metal band Mind, Jason Smith has turned into one of metals most recognisable personalities. Being asked why he created this new group, he said "It isn't just an ego boost, believe it or not. Mind is living out all heavy metal fantasies, and I just want to make something to accompany it, to nterest and intruige people. It's certainly not the end of Mind, we'll be here for years, then again, so will this project." Jason Smith was born in 1986, son of a half-Ecuadorian father and a wealthy mother and went to Cambridge University. He started experimenting with music in 2002, with his first band, The Broken Rhapsody, a straight forward heavy metal band. This lasted for 2 years, until it eventually dissolved. Jason Smith was re-introduced to music, when he formed Chaotica in 2006, eventually to become Mind. They continued under this persona for a year, until their lead guitarist, Will Summers, tragically passed away in a car accident. They met Aaron Del Potro a few months later, and changed their name to Mind. The rest is history.

Somewhat of a "veteran", noise rock guitarist Danny Hunt has seen a change in recent music. Born in 1972, he grew up listening to bands such as My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain. He decided he wanted to play music soon after. Unfortunately, the guitarist hasn't had any shots at fame, and remains unknown, until now. He started a short-lived noise-rock band called Doctor Slaughter, but they broke up before finding any comfort zone. He joined Jason Smiths project both for fun and for recognition.

For bassist Michael Bayley, fame has never crossed the mind. He just enjoys music in general and loves to play. He was born in 1983, to a farmer family in Northampton. He bought his first bass when he moved out, aged 18. He has practiced non-stop since and was eventually found playing in a bar when discovered by Mind drummer Robert Edwards. He was then reported to Jason Smith, who recruited him to the band.

Drummer Aram Avedis was born to Lebanese migrants in 1981 living in the USA. On the tour with Black Gold Reign, Mind befriended him, and proceeded to talk about music. When he revealed he was a drummer, Jason immediately was interested to see what he could do. Aram blitzed the auditions and made it to the Jason Smith Band.

"This band will be progressive, but aswell as rock, we'll be combining loads of different elements into one gooey mush of music. We'll be experimenting with noise, power and sounds. It's going to be abstract, but we're also going to make it listenable, that's always helpful. Mind is classed as experimental, but we only really experiment with differnt forms of metal. This band here will go from traditional tribal music to trance to drone. We hope that you'll enjoy it, peace and love, Jason Smith."

The Jason Smith Band is looking for guests to appear on their debut album. If you are interested, please contact the band by email (OOC: PM)

Okay, here's some news on our album. The title of the record is going to be Genotype and we're still looking for some guests to appear on it. We've already got one lined up for you, who we'll announce closer to the time. We can give you some of the track titles, positions and a little snippet of it, but we won't announce the full track titles and stuff now.

1. Genotype
We'll be starting off in a bit more of a comfort zone, just heavy drone metal basically. It's as subtle as a punch in the face from a gorilla, but more enjoyable, thank god. It will have ambient walls of sound and a lot of electronic noises inside it.
2. ???
3. ???
4. Whatever Happened To...
An acoustic, calm song, but with electronic noises and samples from various TV programs built in. Although it's nice and tranquil, it has a sonic build up in tension, which we hope will lead into the next track.
5. ???
6. The Motion Machine
This will be a huge trance-rock fusion, which is another more comfortable song for us. Most of the announced ones are actually, since they're already completed. I say huge though, because it will last for about 15 minutes and we're hoping to have it as a recurring musical theme.
7. ???
8. ???
9. ???
10. Holy Hell, I'm Falling to Pieces
An electronic song, with African tribal influences mushed in. This is an instrumental, and makes way for loads of little solos in between the nooks and crannies. After the 6th minute however, it turns into feedback from the guitars and drone noise for 3 minutes. It then ends with a heavy riff played once.
11. ??? (This will be another HUGE closer, we plan on having the guest do this one with us.)

If anyone's interested, we're up for supporting anyone on upcoming tours, though it's preferable that you're either fairly heavy or experimental.

As you probably know by now, Json is in the Road to Joy competition, and we wish him the best of luck. We also have a preview of 3 songs off of our album for you, some of the more electronic tracks. Here they are. It also has some amusing pics of him.

They're new songs that we hadn't announced, and are in order called:

Lesser Men
My Favourite Fault
Energetica
