Okay; I recently come up with an idea for an RPG.
It is based around a boarding school for teens. Teens go here from all over the world, some go because their parents say it's best for them, some go because they are considered genius and have been offered scholarships to the boarding school, and many other reasons; including court sentences to the school, and handicap kids.
Does anyone think this would be a good RPG? |

I didn't really see a game concept in any of that, I just saw a vague description of a setting. It sounds to me like a Japanese dating simulator/Hentai game premise. |

i like the joke....
the idea doesn't make sense though, why would a genuis go tot he same bording school as a mentally handicapped kid or one with a court sentence? |

I've been on something similar before. It ended up with me roleplaying part of an incestual relationship. I enjoyed it while it lasted though. |

I love it! :D I'm currently using a 'rich kids' boarding school RPG, I'm really getting on there. I used to be on a lesbians' boarding school RPG which I liked as well, but it shut down. Forum-based roleplay is fantastic, you get better RP than game-based ones, and I like school ones best because I like playing younger characters.
I think that a boarding school for all sorts works best, because then it gets cliquey. You've got the top bitches with money bleeding through their veins, you've got the scholarship geeks, you've got the disabled kids in on benefits, and you've got the scummy ones with the court sentences. And - you've got rivalries!
If you need any help, just ask, I've been thinking of making a similar site and will gladly be co-admin or mod. |

It has been done before, usually on rpgforumsonline.com or something, and it nearly always blows. For one because everybody wants to play the angsty intellectual and second because there's just no premise.
Really, you might as well make a roleplay about a square where elderly folks from all over town come gather with their walkers to look at pretty girls and bitch about people skateboarding. Some of the elderly have fought in WW2 (one might even be a Nazi!), another one was a masked vigilante in the 50's and well, a third one used to be a scientist working on the Manhattan Project, while this other guy lost his entire family during Hiroshima!
You see, there's a set up for conflict, but there's no purpose. |
