(OOC: Now I can actually roleplay properly, I thought i'd give them another shot.)
Whether you remember them or not, Brandish Your Knife were on the brink of becoming a big band. They had a winning recipe of genres mixed into them, furous hardcore, speed metal, thrash, grunge, hip hop and funk, but it never worked out. After the release of various demo tapes and a signing to a major label, BYK suddenly disitergrated into obscurity. Their native Sweden was the only place in which they truly found success though, with their first single,
Dictation, reaching an impressive number 5 on the Swedish charts.
But now they're back, with a vengeance. They promise that their first full length album will be a blinding collection of their most aggressive numbers to date. "We've seen a surge of rock bands lately." explains lead singer Vladimir Czajkowski "For example, bands like
Reckoner have been doing extremely well lately, and it's definitely well deserved. I phoned up Johann, Andriy and Ansgar and said to them I wanted to reform BYK. At first they weren't too sure, but I persuaded them!"
The debut album is to be called
Sonic Overload and will contain the single Dictation, as well as numerous other songs from the demos. On the title of the album, Vladimir said "Well, it's basically what it is in a nutshell. We're pushing the sonic boundaries. If any genre, I would say this album is Sonic Metal, not to be pretentious or anything.
