The scene is set; a large room with various dressings in furniture and curtains, purple, the walls painted a pale-green colour, a chair where a tall, black-haired lanky man sits, lays the focus of the scene. The camera's "REC" sign slowly appears in the corner, with an audible "Rolling" in the background.
Interviewer: Hello, Mr. Nielsen-Franc! I...
Edgar Nielsen-Franc: Please, call me Edgar.
Interviewer: Well... okay. I'm here from RockMag, here to do an interview with you?
E: Let's get started, then.
I: Okay. First question: What got you into music?
E: I've always liked it... all sorts of music, y'know. First time I really listened to music was 6, when I first was taught piano. I abandoned piano when I was 8 and picked up guitar. First song I ever played was Led Zeppelin... "Stairway To Heaven," naturally. Took vocal training when I was 10, and kinda learned to rap, just due to the fact that I was in public school... heh.
I: Where are you from?
E: I was actually born in Ireland, but I grew up in Newbury, in the western part of Berkshire. Had a lot of fun there... y'know. I spend most of my time in London now.
I: So other than music, what're your hobbies?
E: Uh, videogames. Heh. Lots of those, actually. Just grew up with 'em, so. Y'know. It works for me. Uh, also, I skateboard... quite a bit. If I may say so, I'm pretty damn good... Heh.
I: You're an equal rights activist, a vegan, and straight edge. Where do you think you got these policies?
E: My family was always very open... always let me look into things for myself. They were nice, let me figure out things on myself and see what I really wanted to do... and I figured all this was for the better, and take these stances with pride. I've come under fire for them before, but I don't let it interfere, y'know?
I: You have an album coming out soon, along with a single with songs from the album. Care to tell us about them?
E: Oh, yes. I poured my soul into both of those, got the very best producers I could get. I am loving this stuff. The single's got a couple of my favorite tracks, "Days In A Black Hole," which we made a music video for... expect it to be up soon... also got Express Yourself, a cover of the N.W.A. song, which was just plain fun to record and high-quality. Then there's Southpaw Quickfoot, which is a kindof autobiographical song that I loved writing... the album's "A New Era," which is just great in my opinion. I really tried to learn as much as I could in the making. It's kindof prog-rocky with a little bit of rapping mixed in, even a bit of metal influence shining through there... one of my favorite influences for this one was the band "Muse," which kindof just gave it a nice kick.
I: Sounds like the crowd is going to enjoy it. So, nice meeting you Edgar, hope to see you again. That's all here from RockMag, check us out at...
