Behind the scenes
Christopher was sitting on a stool just off the stage where their interveiw/acoustic performance was going to be. He was tuning the tenor guitar that he always kept for acoustic performances, wondering where Ryan and Warren were. Just then, the doors were gingerly opened, and Ryan and Warren slinked their way in, both were wearing dark glasses. Speak of the devil he thought.

Blake called to the guys from the couch in the corner, where he was sorting out his various pieces of hand percussion "Hey."

Ryan-"Stop shouting, I'm hungover" he jerks a thumb at Warren "and he's low."

The interveiwer comes into the room, sees that Ryan and Warren are a mess. A worried look spreads across his face. "You guys gonna be able to play?"

Warren laughs and then says "If Ryan and I couldn't play when we were drunk, high, low, or hungover, we wouldn't be where we are now."

Interviewer-"We'll see about that."

Ryan, as the man leaves, pops three Tylenol and says to his band "We'll be fine."
THE SHOW

A man ran onstage, his short blonde hair spiked up with too much gel, he grabbed the mic from the micstand and says "Hey there, everyone watching at home, I'm Chris California, and I'm your host for this MTV Exculsive Interveiw. Today it's a band on the rise that recently released a single called Ain't It Creepy, and may I say, it is good. Please welcome Long Nights!" A studio audience cheers as the band goes onstage. Ryan waves to the crowd from behind his black glasses. They sit down on four stools opposite Chris.

Chris California: So, welcome to the show. So, can you introduce yourselves?
Ryan: I'm Ryan, Vocals/guitar/keys
Warren: Warren, Guitar
Christopher: Christopher, bass
Blake: Blake, drums
All: and we are Long Nights.
California: Awesome, now you have a new single coming out soon?
Warren: Hell yeah, it's called One More Night
California: Cool, can we hear some of it?
Ryan: What the hell?

A bass line comes in, playing only the open bottom string, Ryan and Warren come in playing a fast guitar riff. As the vocals come in, the guitars stop, and now the bass is playing the riff, Blake is using a tambourine right now.

Oh what the hell,
I guess I'll have another one,
I'll drain the well.
I'll make up for missing your party some other time.
So dance, girl,
Shake your ass while I have one more.

(God) you know it feels so good
The only thing I want right now is to making to next sunlight
I know I've had more than I should
So God, give me one more night

The band then progesses into a short instrumental break. Ryan finishes the song flawlessly.

California (over audience): Wow, that was great.
Warren: I told you we could play hungover.
California: Yeah, shame on me for doubting you. Now, can you tell us anything about the album?
Christopher: Yeah, and you can find some other info on our website Longnights.com. The album is going to be alt.rock mixed with grunge. It will be chock full of melodic goodness, with songs like that and other on it. When it comes out, it will be called Midnight Hour. Watch for it.
California: Any plans to tour for it.
Ryan: No official tour, but it will have touring done for it. When you buy a ticket to one of our concert, you will hear many songs from our most recent album.
California: Speaking of which, your current single, Ain't It Creepy, was a moderate success in the US and UK, can you play it for those places that haven't heard it?
Ryan: Definitely.

Blake begins shaking maraccas rythmically, and Warren joins in playing a minor chord progression, with the bass playing the roots.

(It's creepy isn't it
It's creepy isn't it
It's creepy isn't it
Dare you to touch it)

Ain't it--
Ain't it creepy?
Ain't it--
Ain't it creepy?

What do you think this world is for?
Why are we here?
What do I mean?
I guess we'll never know.

Ain't it--
Ain't it creepy?
Ain't it--
Ain't it creepy?

Ryan then begins playing the chord progression as Warren plays the melody of the song on guitar, then the two begin switching off. Once again, the band finishes the song flawlessly.

California (over studio audience): That was great! now, we're out of further questions and out of time, so this is Chris California--
Ryan: and Long Nights
Both: Signing off.
