Wendy Dio said on Ronnie's official site: "Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever."

Rising is one of the best albums to come out of the 70s as far as I'm concerned. RAINBOW with Dio is just fucking massive. Rising and Long Live Rock 'n' Roll are the best albums he ever did, although the two SABBATH discs and his first two solo albums are classics as well. Seriously, how can you not love this? Anyway, it's sad to see him pass. It's just a matter of time til the other great metal vocalists that are still left pass away. In honor of the little man with the huge voice I'll get shit faced drunk tonight.
