With "Road to Joy" being canceled and both members personal lives in order critically praised and genre-bending rock band Axiom have announced their plans to return from hiatus.

Scott Beckley, the band's manager, had originally released a statement two weeks ago in which he claimed the band was returning to the studio to finish their highly anticipated third album. A blog post on Axiom's website (OOC: AP style changing Web site to website is still weird to me lol) from Mike Peck confirmed the band's return.

"Tim and I are going back into the studio and going to finish this album," Peck said. "Most of the tracks are recorded, a lot of vocals are left and a few other random parts are missing. The plan is to have the recording finished up in a couple weeks and have the album ready for release in early to mid July."

The band's third album has gone through numerous changes. Originally intended as the conclusion to the band's "Axiom Saga" the original version of the album was scrapped and Tim and Mike started over. An unnamed recording engineer from those sessions attempted to sell the recordings and later made them available through many file sharing sites. Tim Dunn and Peck have taken legal action to stop the distribution of the recordings as well as urged fans not to download the recordings.

"We never wanted those recordings to leave the studio," said Dunn. "The fans are taking an inferior and unfinished product that we are not proud of."

The album was delayed further when Dunn and Peck announced the new album would be a double album. Both Dunn and Peck would write and produce one half of the album, rather than work together as on the previous releases. This brought with it a flurry of break-up rumors that the band was quick to discredit. The album was scheduled to make a mid to late May release window.

The release date was eventually changed to "to be decided" after Dunn was chosen as a contestant on the reality show "Road to Joy." With the shows cancellation Dunn was able to reunite with Peck sooner than originally planned.

"Road to Joy being canceled was a blessing and a curse," said Dunn. "On the one hand this unique experience and show is off the air, but it means I get to go back to making music sooner."
