Tervehdys polveutua pimentää Suomi! Me aari VirbelluM , viikinki kansa metallinen liittyä yhteen. Me aari tähän jotta erottaa te säilyttäminen , säilyttäminen -lta ihme , -lta maaginen , -lta sankari , ja taistelulaiva voitokas! *Greetings from darkest Finland! We are VirbelluM, a viking folk metal band. We are here to tell you stories, stories of wonder, of magic, of heroes, and battles victorious!* VirbelluM have been formed in the dark winter of the Northern European country of Finland, and the city of Espoo. We have formed in the cold, snowy, icy winter of 2009. The name VirbelluM is derived from the Latin for "Battle Hero", we celebrate those vikings from the past who gave their lives in order to reach the promised land of VALHALLA! We sing of joy and sorrow, of courage and of belief, but most of all, of VICTORY!! We plan to bring a new dimension to the world of music! Too many bands are singing of love, and other weak emotions. VirbelluM will bring you courage, strength, inner power, anger, and pride! VirbelluM are: Kimmo - (extreme left in picture) - Guitarist - His name is derived from the word for independance. Kimmo is a strong soul, who marches into battle with his own will and will answer only to the highest power! Mauno (Second left in pic) - Bassist - A very talented musician, Mauno is the man who is skilled in battle, hence his name, deriving from the old Finnish for "Great one". Mauno will be the last man standing after a longsword battle, but is not afraid of the journey to Valhalla! Hjalmar (rear of pic) - drums - A bear of a man, Hjalmar comes from the Finnish of old, meaning "Helmet wearing soldier", he is strong, and very powerful, and will always be the first to breathe the battle, and to fight to the death! Saatu - (Female in pic) - Keyboard - Saatu, meaning fairytale. She is one from the tales of victories gone by. Saatu is a woman much desired over, but she wields much power and strength, and only the most noble of vikings may even be in her presence! Mikko - (Extreme right in pic) - Vocals - Mikko, deriving from the name Mikael, meaning "He who is like God". Mikko is the brains behind the battle. Mikko will not be scared to get blood on his hands, but others rely on him to lead them with a clear head, and pride into battle! Poika -lta VÃfil ja Eimyrja - 6:54 - a tale of the Norse ancestor, Viking! 2. Me aari hauska ja me porista - 4:01 - An old Viking drinking song, meaning, we are merry and we sing. Our folk metal adaptation of this! The name Poika -lta VÃfil ja Eimyrja, is in old-Finnish, and it means son of VÃfil and Eimyrja. These two people of the Norse motherland were the parents of the most famous Norseman of all time, the man known simply as VIKING! Viking is from the old Þorsteins saga Víkingssonar, which is one of many legendary stories told of our forefathers. This song is about the life of Viking, and it will give you all a view into why we celebrate our ancestors, why we are so courageous, strong, and most importantly, proud! The cover artwork shows Viking as he has just rescued the Swedish princess Hunvor, and the dead slain giant lies beside him. He was to go on to marry Hunvor's attendant Ingird, and have two children, who are the ancestors of all Norsemen! The single opens with a slow, chunky riff, and then erupts with a gutteral scream from all of the band. A keyboard laden opening riff leads into the opening slow verses, growled by myself, Mikko. When the second part (Bronholm's etc) is sung, we pick up the pace and play a very fast riff with a speedy drumbeat and almost no keyboard. And in the chorus, we have group vocals over a violin and drum combination which is very fast and like the celebrations of the old days. The song finishes with my slow vocal, over a slow violin, before the whole band chant Viking's heroic name! Lyrics (Growled) From the spawn of Eimyrja, a god like power comes Thrust into the world of man, Bereft of care for sons Holger's offspring ripped of breast, taken by her throat Suitors come and are refused, but Holger is too old Bronholm's strongest, proudest son, Bound by courage to Halfdan Together sailing on dragon!
