Just a few things that I do:
- How you enter the stage (lights go dark, you pop up from underneath the stage etc).
- Talk to the crowd, describe their reactions.
- What's on stage (colour of lighting, dancers, props etc).
- What you're wearing (you could also describe what the dancers are wearing).
- What you're doing throughout the songs you perform (sitting on a stool, high-energy dance routine, walking around the stage and shaking the fans hands).

Well what I actually do is base the performances on real concerts. For example I watch some Radiohead/Oasis/Blur performances on Youtube, then I try to if I were in a band, how would I execute some of those performances.. What I usually do is incorporate the way the songs were played though..

Exactly what Stacy said. And being original can be tough, especially if you don't know how performing in a stage works. There's a lot that goes behind the scenes, that might encounter with some things you are trying to do. This can be difficult to write because usually when a person performs they go with their instinct, though certain things are planned.
Also there are certain things that are possible when performing and you don't want to make it sound like you're trying too hard and coming off as unrealistic. The more you do RP performances the better you get.

What I like to do is make it like I'm dictating what happens on a video of a concert performance (So what you see is just the artist performing and maybe some behind the scenes shots) with the characters thoughts thrown in every now and then.
RP Only Since July 2010
