The crazy melting pot of genres that is Oregon native Walker Boyd's semi-solo project, Cycle announced that the debut LP is in the works. When asked what the album might sound like Boyd replied "It will sound like Hans Zimmer trying to conduct the members of Santana, while whoever the American version of Thom Yorke is sings songs about alien landings... Well, maybe not but that would make a hell of an album!".

The album is due out sometime later this year. No word yet on a name, according to Boyd's blog it is somewhat of a concept album. "In the past year I've been listening to alot of progressive rock stuff, and I think that may come out in the album a bit. On the other hand I would really love to add some orchestral twang to the album, and my ska-punk roots will show through on any album I make," said Boyd on his blog. In the past critics have called his two locally successful EP's an identity crisis. Whether this album gathers the same results or not is yet to be seen.
