New Single

It is official, MattY will be releasing a new single towards the end of next week!
It will be the first one off of his debut album - which will be out later this year

The A-side track is called 'Shooting Star', with the B-sides being: 'Inspired' and 'Let Me Go'

This is the Cover Art for the track below: -

Shooting Star is to feature young and very talented artist 'Michelle Green'!

Here is a walk through of the songs:

Shooting Star (ft. Michelle Green) - 4:23
Shooting Star is about a personal experience of MattY, and about how sometimes all you can do is wish (for example on a 'Shooting Star') for things to get better. The story behind the song being written and about the collaboration with Michelle is that MattY was looking for a female artist to sing on this track - with him having already written the lyrics and sorted out most of the musical side of it - and he went to London on a weekend out with a few friends, down there MattY met Michelle in a coffee shop and they got talking. MattY soon asked her if she wanted to do some vocals on his latest track - which she very quickly accepted. A week or so later they got together and recorded the track in a London based recording studio.

Inspired - 2:48
Inspired is a short freestyle by MattY with a steady beat behind it. The lyrics are basically about how MattY got into music and what inspired him to get off the streets and to do something productive with his life

Let Me Go - 3:57
Let Me Go is about MattY and his relationship with his Great-Grandparents - who brought him up from a young age - and MattY talks about how he feels very greatful for his Gramps and Nana, and how they have been great influences on his life, but its time to let him lead his own life - with both of them being in their mid-70's now.

The Single Will Be Available on the 11th of August Make sure to get a copy!

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

MattY: Good :) Cheers, it will be performed, but it wont be quite the same as the album track, as i will have to have one of my backing singers do the female vocals. But yeah, im looking forward to it :)
