MATTY

"The Artist who started slow & is now huge"

A-

Since debuting in 2011 with unsuccessive single 'High & Dry' Matticus is now known as one of the biggest Grime Artists of 2010 going into 2011. That cute smile, hunger and charming attitude gives me no choice but to give a solid B+ to this artist.

Controversy Percentage: 84.90 %
An relationship with Michelle Green, the opening of his own label, and #1 single has garnered Matty alot of publicity since debuting in mid 2010

Music Rating: 83.50%

Marketability: 87.65%

Greg Walls: Sorry but didn't you do the same thing for Brittany Knox. Using your power as a larger label to tempt Brittany away from Grunge Scorn Records and also if an act is unhappy at a label then it's up to you as a label owner to resolve the issue rather than ignore the act. Just saying.

Malory: Brittany was in the middle promoting her debut album and her boss or whatever he was to her was in JAIL. She has no one to represent her the correct way, do you remember how she was getting abused? Brittany contacted me to help her get out of her contract. I would not consider it stealing. She needed to be saved. She's a multi million dollar artist that needed to be saved from GSR. He was in jail and he was no help to Brittany. Once I got her out of that situation...look where she is now. Its totally different.

Greg Walls: The fact of the matter is that your act became unhappy at your label and that's something you have to think about, maybe you could learn from this and improve your label. It's your job to keep your acts happy and I don't know about you but I'd try to do everything I can to make my acts happy.

The distance some stars go, for a certain amount of publicity used today has become so popular and there are so many ways to get some media that some attempts have become totally ridiculous. Even if it has to do with dwelling on negativity for years to come. Shame. Let the media come to you, about your mass critical acclaimed album or something positive your doing, something positive at all.. or what about media based on raw talent and hunger, the media doesnt care about that and thats the sad part that its as if artists/bands are embarrassing themselves having publicity for such negative things, and they promote it too! And whats even sadder is that the artists use this to their advantage to further their career!

I can't wait to be an official member of this label. It's exciting to have a real label to call home.

Official Statement:

It's been a while hasnt it. There has also been so much going on in the media regarding the artists, the management and of course myself.. here over at Shooting Star Records. I've taken this time out to let you guys know what was going on because lot of people are receiving the wrong messages. First off, I love my artists here at Shooting Star Records. Without them, I would simply be nothing, and trying to get on my feet all over again. Each and every one of the artists on the label now, and before I respect entirely because they are very strong, and they're fighters and most certainly all of them have something to prove. Do not believe rumours of me "not caring about my artists" or "SSR closing down" its complete nonsense. I'm going to tell everyone what really happened.

What happened was, for the last 2/3 months. Shooting Star Records have been going through some bad financial problems with the label. So with all the financial problems.. of course there will be a few budget cuts, artist wise, and some set backs promotion wise, but look at ElectroDeath... I respect them so much.. and thank them so much for not relying on a record label in a financial hole for a certain while, hold them back. We did what we could do for promotion, they took the best of what we could do and they blew out the house with their sold out concerts, amazing album and so forth. And whatever artists who didn't want to stick it out and fight for a better tomorrow as did the artists on the label currently, they could.. and did leave. For one, I cannot beg you to stay, especially if you do not have the creative mind to have ideas for your own that you could tell me about promotion wise and I myself, would do my best to make it happen, or give my creative input. You are not a puppet, and I will not treat you like one. If you want to be treated like a puppet and have the label make all the decisions for you, you are better off somewhere else. Its a working process.

Right now, we are looking up.. things are looking great for the label again! Things are back up and running and the money is really flowing once again and we are back on our game! I want to say thanks for the artists who stuck it out through this hard time, it shows your a true artist to your label :]. I cannot wait to share all the exciting things that will be going on at SSR in the coming weeks/months. But first off, some gaps have to be filled and we have a couple of signings to do!! Thank you everyone....WERE HERE!

:* Malory

PS: To the person who asked if I have a problems with Brittany Knox. Totally not.. she isn't with the label anymore for seperate reasons and I remain as her manager. No bad blood! :O
