ROARR Lyrics:

Part 1 (Intro):
I’m not afraid,
Sex on Thursday
More on Friday,
ROARRR!

Part 2 (Verse 1):
I’ve ran out of things
to get famous for
Ran out of things
to get favored for
If you find me, I’m sober
My 15 minutes are over
Over? Over? Over? Yes
I’m not a saint

Part 3 (Chorus):
This is brutal ,This is brutal
The way my music fades
The way they run away
I got nothing to say
So I do nothing
but roar, roar, roar!
I do Nothing but
Roar roar roarr!

Part 4 (Verse 2):
Feed me,
Something catchy
Set your target
Hit it well
Expose me
on a cover
Make it racy,
Make it sell
Order me,
Like a robot,
Make me do things.
I should not
I’m not a saint
steal on Tuesday
record on Wednesday
Or I’m fucked up

Part 5 (Bridge/Breakdown):
Feel the laughter,
feel the race
To take your picture,
Then spit your face
You want it to sell!
No? Liar!
you care about me?
LIAR!
Fame hits you
You will hit back
I don’t get tired
hit, run, Fire!
But if I get tired
I'm a fag
Watch them laugh
Don’t get mad
Your raffish face
Deserves disgrace
(end of breakdown)
Touch freely,
Dance freaky
Change the rhythm
Music fucker
You’re not a saint
Make that money,
Or you’re a cavemen!
You’re not a saint
Pray on Sunday
Kill on Monday
ROARR!

(Part 2 Repeat/Collision):
This is brutal ,This is brutal
The way my music fades
The way they run away
I got nothing to say
So I do nothing
but roar, roar, roar!
I do Nothing but
Roar roar roarrrrr!

Part 6 (Verse 3):
Blood Rushing,
Veins blowing
Heart Accelerates
Organs alter
Castrato
ROARRRR!

Part 7 (Spoken/Outro):
I'm Pregnant!

Writing (From Daniel's Perspective):

The song was written at my room. I woke up one night and the song just sort of came out of me. I want to say came to me, but the song is not something that is made up, I was indeed just reflecting on what I felt. I found myself doing that with 90% percent of the tracks of this album. I realized I had the song in my mind for ages and it took months for me to write it down on paper. That's how magical this song is. Usually I write my songs on my laptop, but since it was late and I didn't want to forget, I wrote it on a piece of paper and I let loose. I contacted my friend Xavier that same night and we recorded it the next day. I never edit my songs( In terms of adding words to it) and I will never ever allow anyone edit my songs after they are completed. Unless is a co-writing effort or as people like to call it a collaboration then some editing can be done. It's important to record it as it was originally written, because if we start changing things, that's when the songs starts getting prissy and it starts to loose the original meaning it had.

Daniel: As a was writing this song, I remember me rocking my head to it. Which is something I rarely do when i write. *giggles* I mean picture me rocking my head in the middle of the night as I write. It looks funny don't it. I felt good and superior though. I was feeling a lot of depression at the time, so it was a pain reliever. writing this song was just so magical.

Production (From Daniel's and Xavier XXX Perspective):

This song has a rough sound that's consistent throughout the song. While this song doesn't have production going on all over the place in contrast to some of the other songs on "Anti-social", the song touches a little bit on psychedelic soul (Which Daniel's voice fits perfectly). But it is mainly because of what the type of music Daniel listens to. However, it's less of an influence and more of a musical finding, which led to Daniel discover that genre in particular. The song will best be described as a rock-pop song with psychedelically influenced ad-libs. The intro is somewhat robotically sung. The friendly chorus is sung normally which will meet the criteria of pop radio. The bridge and the breakdown is where it is mostly electric guitar driven and the song rides you up to the peak. It is really fast paced, allowing it to have diverse lyrics. During the collision of the song, the hair on your back may stand up and just when you reach that eargasm, it it swept away by the third verse which is sung robotically. Followed by a big ROARR (With two R's). The rest is spoken.

Daniel: Since the song was finished, I had always been impressed with the production of this song the most. While it's not necessarily an experimental track. It's not your typical pop/rock track either. It still has those electric guitars which lashes out at you, so it's a rock out track but it also meets the radio pop criteria that is hard to tackle which such a song.

Xavier: I was very impressed with Daniel's input, because you know he wrote the song but he didn't leave all the production up to me. He basically came up with the treatment and how he wanted the song to sound like. I just did the technical work really. I really look forward to working with Daniel again in the future and he has the potential to become a producer one day.

Lyrical Meaning (From Producer Xavier XXX Perspective):

Part 1: The beginning is sort of like in your face. Which is what I like. Daniel basically says “Leave me alone, I’m a sexual human being”! Nothing will stop him from feeling loved or giving love how he wants to give it. Whether if it’s to a man or to a woman. He roars, hoping to scare the enemy which is society.

Part 2 & 3: After the Banana Boy single, he was sort of done selling out. It's funny because, He admits it and then goes on to say it hurts and that he’s not a saint. Now, that most of his fans have now left him, Banana Boy is quickly being forgotten.

Part 4: Then this is when things start getting a little complicated in the song. Daniel’s presence in the music market is being ignored, asking all the producers to feed him some catchy beat that would sell through a particular audience. Then he asks the photographer to expose him on a cover. Make it racy in order for it to sell (that can be relatable to the Banana Boy cover fiasco). He then asks the label to order him like a robot. Obviously parodying the fact that most pop stars are controlled or that they have to put a certain image. What they basically look like in the eyes of Daniel. He then takes a shot at people who steal songs and record it and claim it as their own. Apparently, Daniel wrote a song in which he was never given credit for. Daniel expresses his anger towards that in the next part of the song.

Part 5: When the high speed heavy electric guitar driven break down takes over the song, things really do get even more complicated. He's basically exposing the fact that once a pop star is all figured out and seen as a gimmick they suffer a decline in sales and basically get called flops. Which when you look at it, is probably the most ignorant thing to say from both sides. I especially know this a producer. But Daniel can’t help but sit back and enjoy some payback. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but I'll say it anyways. He apparently takes shot at the previous owner of Hot Eye Records who exploited Daniel. Which is the reason why Daniel asks and then yells. "You care about me? NO!" Followed by another witty line “Your raffish face deserves disgrace”.

Part 6: Then this next part of the song physically describes Daniel transformation into the beast. So then you realize all this time he's been transforming as he's letting loose. It's pretty descriptive. The blood starts to rush, the veins start to blow, the heart accelerates, and the organs alter into different position of the body. That's intelligent and lyrically adherent in my opinion. Daniel then announces that he has been castrated to reach a certain note in which males could not hit. Obviously, relatable and smartly directed towards the gay community, and finally the last ROARR which finally sounds like sort of beast.

Part 7: After his transformation. Daniel announces his pregnancy. In other words, the next step in the song, which is to make it. Something that pop out of Daniel's head.

Xavier: There is just something about the songs that makes you want to run and say fuck you to anyone who is taking advantage of you or trying to control your life. "ROARR!" is a lyrical knockout. Is interesting to see Daniel mention and use the word castrato to describe his transformation and evolution. No doubt Daniel’s lyrics for roar are one of the most powerful of the year and of course will remain unfairly underrated and overshadowed by "wake up in the morning feeling like P.Diddy". But we knew that before hand, and we'll just sit and laugh and enjoy the music we just made.

Stacey: Your quickly becoming one of my favourite new (ish) acts. I love the beggining of Roarr, It's everything I want from lyrics.

OOC: Man that must have taken ages to write. I think everyone's inspiring each other to start doing things, which is great.

Lyrics to this song are incredible. I don't think it's true that most of your fans have left you, though. I think all the mainstream pop kids have left you, but your true fans will always be there. "Pray on Sunday, Kill on Monday" is so much better than "wake up in the morning feeling like P.Diddy"
-Eric Quillington

OOC: Holy shit... I've never seen that much work put into a single song, this is amazing. I know it would be an insane amount of work, but if you made a track-by-track thing of your next album in this style, it would be one of the best RPs I've ever seen.

"When asked 'how do you write?' I invariably answer, 'one word at a time', and this answer is invariably dismissed. But that's all it is. It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

OOC: Thanks! Actually, as long as it seems, it surprisingly didn't take much time to write. I had the song in the back of my mind because I'm very familiar with it from a personal level, so I found myself just going at it as a I wrote. The only thing that took some time was the production part.

Daniel: Haha, thanks man.

OOC: Thanks. I'm thinking since I did it for this song, I might as well do it for the rest of the songs on Anti-social. So I think I'm going to go for it. Really appreciate the compliment!

OOC: Awesome, I can't wait to hear the rest of the stuff! I'm thinking about doing an album track-by-track post similar to what you're doing here, so this is going to be very helpful!

OOC: As everyone else has mentioned, this is one of the best and most detailed RPs for a long time. Brilliant. Track-by-track RPs are great, because they're fun to make and fun to read as well. I think I'm gonna do that for Minds next album as well, which I've already started on.
