Jake Wilson: I couldn't disagree with you more on that. I agree with the praise you've gave Katie because she's immensely talented from what I've seen so far but the line, as most new artists these days don't have much talent. I'll just throw a few names out there. Daniel, Stacey Walton, Infinite, Brittany Knox, Hayley Hudson, Sara Daniels, Matty, Saburban Sunrise, Fathers Of Fury, Michelle Green, Alicia Lena and Glamazon, I've probably missed some out. They're all still fairly new and are probably some of the biggest names in the industry right now, I think the experienced artists should be pretty scared right now. I rarely disagree with you Ryan and admire your music abilities greatly but your pretty off with that comment.

"While I respect your opinion, I still stand by my prior comment. Out of the ones you mentioned, yes, Daniel, Stacey Walton, Infinite, Alicia, Glamazon, all those have talents and know how to use it correctly. As for the rest, I don't think they do, but everyone has a right to their own opinion. I mentioned those out of the bunch because they actually bring something different to the music world, are successful, and have talent. I don't just base my opinion on number-one hits. Matty just had the number-one radio hit, congratulations, he's a teenager and successful. Do I think he is changing the music scene or just mind-blowing people with his music, any aspect of it, no I don't. I also disagree with the experienced artists being in fear because of all these new kids on the block. They're not going to take these certain places the experienced artists have worked their assess off for years to get to. I can admit that the current scene is predominantly made up of these new artists, yes of course, I'd be foolish to take that away from them. But in my opinion for any artist in general to be considered as talented they need to have the ability to inspire listeners, and these kids just aren't. Perhaps as they get older they'll learn that but for right now that's my view on most, not all, new artists."

Jake: I get what your saying now. I'm always gonna back the newer artists, being a label owner it's kinda what I do.

Linda Fea: I def agree with that Hernandez says and I'm being serious. There's nothing 'captivating' (in terms of quality) coming from a lot of the newer artists.
Not that is a shock or anything, but there is always that one new artist who shines and brings quality music to the industry. Yet lately that hasn't happened. Let's face it. By now everything has been talked about. It's all about approach and how you use your talent and not the computers.

At the end of the day it's all business and entertainment. But quality is what I'm interested most and that's what I will always base my reviews and comments on. Don't like it? Too bad.

Katie's Blog Number 2

Hi guys! If you remember correctly, I said at the start of my last blog post that I didn't have a clue how many people were reading my blog...could be none, could be a lot. Turns out, I received so many comments on it, like 798 I think. Wow! That is so awesome! I can't believe how many people are actually even paying attention to me. Thank you all so much!

So, my single is actually out now! Yay! It was amazing to see the final product, and hold it in my hand, with the artwork all professionally done and stuff, and to me, it's everything I've ever wanted. Plus, the feedback has been a.may.zing!! Seriously, I've had bands, artists and fans emailing me all week saying how much they liked it! I never expected anything like this...ever! I hope it can continue for a while to come.

And finally, you may have heard, I'm (still can't believe this is actually true) being given the chance to go on tour! Me...Katie...I will be heading out as of tomorrow, across the UK...supporting the amazing Suburban Sunrise, in places like Aberdeen, Birmingham, and right back home, in London (eep!) It's going to be sensational to get the chance to get out of pubs and play proper venues! I just can't wait. And I can't thank the guys in SS enough

Anyway, I must run, got to get home to London for the Chaos Awards!

Peace, love, hugs and others,

Katie x~x

Katie On Tour

Wow, what a night I had last night! I walked onto that red carpet at the Chaos Awards, and...talk about starstruck! OMG...I have never seen so many stars in all my life! I was actually on the carpet at the same time as Miss Vanity (eep!!)! Anyway, it was a great night. Thanks to the little group that I went with, we had a nice drink ,and a chat, and it was great to feel like a real part of the industry!

So, now it's time to get back to work! As you all know I am now on my FIRST EVER TOUR, wow, with Suburban Sunrise! It's been amazing, waiting for this day, and today, I actually got to meet them. I was so nervous! Matt is sooo coool (well done on the Sexiest Male award last night Matt), and Nicole is a really great girl! I think I'm gonna enjoy being out on this run with them, even if it is just a short one.

The tour started tonight in Aberdeen. My first time up here, and it's a lot busier than I thought it would be! I mean, it's not London busy, but I had heard people say that Aberdeen was like, full of sheep or something! Anyhow, it's great to be here, and to find out that I actually have fans all the way up here! Some people even asked for my autograph! Can you even believe it?
I was nervous at first going on stage if I'm honest. There's a big jump from the corner of a pub, to a big stage like this one tonight. But the people who arrived early were very nice, very appreciative, and I got a good reception. I think it went pretty well for a first night on tour!

My setlist was:

Guess What?
This Is The Life (Amy Mcdonald cover, Aberdeen girl)
Etchings
Guns And Horses (Ellie Goulding cover)
In My Mind
It's Only My Eyes

And, oh yeah, apparently my single is up for charting this week, so I hope people get the chance to listen, and vote if they like it!

Anyhow, back on the tour bus now. I think I'm just gonna relax and listen to some tunes. It's been a scary, but immensely fun, couple of days, and I need my rest for tomorrow, full steam ahead to Birmingham!!

Peace, love, and other joyous offerings,

Katie x~x

Katie On Tour - Day 2

I was told before I started all this, that touring was a time for "firsts". Well today, I woke up on a bus for the first time ever...and the second time...and the next 811 times :(. It wasn't so bad at first when I went to bed at like midnight, but as soon as the bus started to move I was rolling all around the place in my bunk and I could not sleep for more than three minutes :(.

But, we made it to Birmingham, and day 2 of this mini Suburban Sunrise tour of the UK, and I got a few hours sleep. I've actually just been out and about the city with Nicole of SS, we looked at a few shops and had some dinner, so that was cool! :D

Back at the venue now, and I'm due on the stage in 15 for a soundcheck eeep! This is so much of a bigger venue than in Aberdeen so Im mega nervous :s.

Anyway, I better run and get ready, more from me later.

Love, peace and many other imminently happy things,

Katie x~x

Katie on Tour - Day 2 - Number 2

Hi guys, wow I'm super excited tonight. Another amazing night on the stage!

I walked out onto the stage in Brum tonight, and I was so shocked to see that so many people were out there early to see me play my tunes! I could barely keep my jaw from dropping open! The crowd were really appreciative as well, and there were a few people down front who had tshirts on...one had a K one had an A etc etc and they were up front spelling out KATIE!! It was so exhilarating to see people who genuinely like what I do! So, if those girls are reading my tour blog, then thank you sooooo much babes! I love you!

My setlist for tonight was the same (almost) as last night's, but tonight I slipped in "fit, but you know it" by the streets instead of Amy Macdonald's track, another hometown track for the crowd. It was really fun to do some rapping and jump behind the keyboard and play some samples.

So now, I'm off to watch my peeps in Suburban Sunrise tear up Birmingham, the crowd are really up for it tonight!

Afterwards I think I'm due at the bar for a little drink! Might help me sleep on the bus a little better than last night, and then we are on the move again later on!

I'll talk to you all tomorrow again!

Love and peace and fluffy things

Katie x~x

Katie on Tour - Day Three

Good evening again guys! I am frigging flying right now! Not literally, I mean, we're still in London, but I am on top of the world!! To be back home was one thing, to get to play in a venue like Brixton Academy was another, but the reaction I got, was just, wow! I came out on the stage, and people were chanting my name, it was awesome! Also, my mum and dad made it to the show tonight, and they were able to hear that, so I'm amazingly glad they got to hear it!

What else can I say for tonight? Didn't get much sightseeing done. Mainly cos I come from London anyway, and so Brixton isn't new to me. I did have a bitchin Happy Meal earlier though! The toy was like a little soft bear thing :D

For my set tonight, I stuck to what I've been doing, throwing in some local songs to make people from around here smile. Needless to say that was easier in London than in, for example, Aberdeen.

Guess What?
Back In Black (Amy Winehouse cover)
Etchings
Can't Stand Me Now (Libertines cover)
In My Mind
It's Only My Eyes

The Libertines song especially was so much fun. We had a whole bad on the stage really jamming, and I was super excited. So excited, I even included a picture for you guys from that song!

UserPostedImage

And once again, SS were amazing tonight! I just hope Im warming the crowd up enough for them each night. Last night tomorrow though :(, I'll be sad to see SS go, and I'll miss Nicole :(
But I do get to play the O2 arena,,,ohemgee, eep! ets, it is just beyond my wildest dreams!

See you guys tomorrow

love

Katie's Blog - Signing with Studio 60

Hi peeple! Katie here again. So, I've spent my weekend relaxing, after that minitour with SS last week! What a week I had, I got to play some awesome shows, in some awesome venues, and see some amazing fans. Thanks you all for the reactions I got, and for coming out extra early to watch me play live! Also, thanks to SS, who were just amazing, taking me under their collective wing! Hope to see you guys soon, miss you all already!

And since I got back, well, the hugeness of these past few weeks just keeps snowballing. I got a call Saturday night from my manager Simon, asking if I wanted a record deal, I was like "yeah, I think I need a demo soon..." and he said Studio 60 had actually offered me a deal already! Eeeeeeeep! This is incredible for me...of course, I agreed straight away, to an awesome 2 album deal, which will give me total creative freedom, and let me be exactly who I want to be. So, there you are, you are now reading the blog of Katie Coyle: Studio 60 Artist, pro music woman, and amazed LDN girl! Sharing a label with artists like Mind and Ryan Ross Hernandez is just mindboggling to be honest, but I can't wait to get into this industry full-time, and just really really go for it! Look out for an album in the not-too-distant future! You have been warned lulz.

Oh, and the single "It's only my eyes" is out now! Available for charting in the Top20...so vote Katie (description and lyrics on page 1)

TTYL
