So you may have heard about this.

There is a restaurant in America called The Heart Attack Grill which serves food that is grilled in lard and such items as the Quadruple Bypass Burger. They have signs saying "Warning-eating here is dangerous for your health." and anyone who can prove they weigh over 350 pounds eats for free.

Their spokesperson was Blair something-or another (I dun remember) but he died last week. He weight 570 pounds and ate at the HG often. His family and the HG say he died of pneumonia.

What do you think of this whole thing? The owner blatantly says he uses obesity and even Blairs death to help promote his restaurant What are your opinions on the whole dang thing?

As if the rest of the world didn't already think we were fatasses. This is getting extremely out of line, this restaurant is killing people, who the fuck wants to eat here. This in encouraging obesity and that's just fucking sad.

I think it's terrible to promote obesity even in a comical way. It is the leading cause of death in the US, even more so than cigarettes. Over 300,000 people died per year in the US due to obesity (although that figure was higher ten years ago, it's still a terrible number). It's an epidemic caused by our strenuous lives, and it has influenced all parts of our society, and joking about it is rather shallow and hypocritical

It's terrible...the way they portray nurses in the restaraunt is unacceptable.

The restaurant is not killing people...people are killing themselves eating that godawful crap...and regularly too. People can choose not to eat it.
