I would RP more, if people actually replied to my first post. Or is this one of those forums were everyone ignores the new kid, and keeps the place to itself. Thereby making it less active, and vanilla. |

You can't expect for people to reply to your threads if YOU're not even interacting with anyone either.

If you mean in introductions, there's this stupid rule that the mods have to approve every non-mod post in there, so you wouldn't have got any replies. (I've now approved it.) If you mean in RP, you may have got a cold welcome because people were replying in character, and our characters can be a lot bitchier than our members! (: Welcome on board, your first RP post was good. |

Ok,since mr/ miss(?) Serious put it out there,im going to chime in. this place is very hard to integrate into.though i really cant say as to why this is. Being mean to new people would almost be better than the sorta indifference they are greeted with.at least hostility is an acknowledgment. I only kept sticking around because im stubborn.but some other people that came over with me arent so stubborn. Bobby cairo and dk are both very good at what they do,but the indifference drove them into the arms of another game....sort of. I know things are different where we came from,we simply didnt have the population to afford it if people didnt stick around.i dont mean this to sound like i think you all are assholes and its all i can do to not make voodoo dolls of you.i just want to say that to outsiders this place can seem a little.....cliquey.
Also,im lax to interact with people.mainly because some people may not appreciate my brand of doing things. |

And think of it as "Hazing" the new guy, new guys often suck, so u gotta be better than them, suck harder, oh crap I messed that up, suck less hard, but still a little hard to keep things interesting |

Once it was implied all i was doing pointless side commentary,so i sorta stopped trying to interact with people. As i can see and understand how what i do seems sort of pointless and random.and how some people wouldnt want their threads polluted with erica and nina's banter about whatever minor part of their thread caught my interest. |

Also,im lax to interact with people.mainly because some people may not appreciate my brand of doing things. It's not even that, your from Maven. I remember if you rped in Maven (when it was still active) you got replies. I'd say back right before I quit that all changed here. It used to be non stop role play all day through the RP board, I guess people just don't like band role play anymore. |

I really agree. The two forums are so different in the way people RP and interact, I will try to mesh in. Simply because I like to RP, and will now do it regardless if no one replies to me. I simply don't care, I will reply to others. |

I dont think that learning-curve is quite right, but saying that there is a joining-curve would be appropriate. The thing is that the forums get clogged. Most of us who get on once a day might see that your thread in RP exists. I get online after school which is after the bulk of the posting has been done so there will be a couple of pages at least of threads with new replies. I dont have time to read all of them so I pick and choose from what there is. Usually I pick what I expect will be a good read or was posted by someone who I've been friendly with for a while. I'll reply in about half of what I read. It is because I don't have time for anything else. I'm just guessing that the same is true for other people.
That doesn't mean that no one will ever reply to your stuff. Most threads get maybe a reply or two from someone who isnt the person that started them. If you are familiar with roleplay and do something exciting you'll probably get attention. Regardless, as long as we decide we dont hate you, and you stick around, we will probably eventually start replying in your threads from time to time simply because of the fact that they exist. I dont think I had more than two people reply in my stuff until several weeks after I began RPing. For now I certainly suggest that you reply to other people's stuff. It would probably help us decide that we dont hate you, not to say that we do hate you now. |
