Walt Hannigan was heading towards a town of drunken despair and maybe even making a few mistakes with a few of the chicks in the local bar, but that would happen later. A few other things would happen later, some interesting, some pretty fucking insane and some....we won't speak of. Right now though...

He was sitting at the bar, drinking his first beer and watching a struggling band try to make a buck on stage.

Having become an overnight celebrity after being announced as Infinite's new keyboardist, the shock of adjusting to the spotlight was something Amelia Florentine was still uncomfortable with. Walking into some grungy bar, she hoped to temporarily get away from the stares, as most people would most likely be too drunk to recognize her. Taking a seat next to a young man, she orders a drink before deciding to be polite.

Amelia: Uhm... hi. I'd offer to buy you a beer, but I see you already have one. There goes the only chance I had at nailing a pick-up line.

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Walt looked over to the girl next to him, she looked vaguely familiar. Vaguely...but Walt's memory wasn't that good, not that good at all in fact. Walt put down his beer, before even taking a sip of it.

Walt: Oh man, you were going to try a pick-up line on me? I think that in itself was a pick-up line. How about I buy the beer, and uh...I've never gotten this far in a conversation before.

Amelia: Well, I already have a beer, but... y'know what? Fuck it, order me a new one.

Needing a way to dispense her still half-full bottle, her eyes eventually rest on the band playing on the bar's makeshift stage. Seeing how everyone else is throwing an assortment of objects towards their general direction, she figures it won't hurt to add one more item to the collection.

Walt watches the woman chuck a bottle at the band, the Lead Singer's utter rage brought a hearty laugh to the young man.

Walt: Hoho! That was awesome! Bartender, get a Guiness for Miss....?

He turned back to her, hoping she would finish the silence.

Amelia: Oh... Florentine. Amelia Florentine.

Her attention, for the moment, is focused on the lead singer of what might possibly be the worst bar band in history. After making suggestive faces, she gives them a flash of the bird before looking at the man next to her.

Amelia: I wouldn't be a classy lady if I didn't ask of your name. So.. do I have the pleasure?

"Oh...Florentine. Amelia Florentine."

Walt reeled back as Amelia looked over at the Lead Singer. He shook his head, a French Chick, here? Pure insanity. Then she asked him his name.

Walt: Ommgawa-

Walt breathed in for a moment, he had made the Cardinal Sin and the reason why he didn't get into many conversations. He was socially awkward and sometimes his brain melted and forced itself down his mouth, but not this time. He straightened up a bit,

Walt: Walter Hannigan, people just call me Walt most of the time.

Amelia: Well, then, Walt; it's a pleasure to meet you.

After flashing him a smile, she takes the beer he was generous (or foolish) enough to buy for her.

Amelia: I like you. Out of all the people who found out my name, you're the only one who didn't ask what Eric Quillington is like. He's a flamboyant little tart, by the way. And, out of all the people in this smelly bar, you're the only person I had to force into buying me a drink. Of course, now you've made a bit of a mistake; two or three of these bad boys later, and you're not going to be able to get me out of your hands.

Looking around the bar, Amelia noticed for the first time just how damp and depressing the place really was. She had picked this place by ransom, and was beginning to hope that all her choices in this town won't be like this.

Amelia: Does anything exciting happen here, or is it always the lonely hearts club?

For the first time of the night Walt takes a swig of his own beer, looking over to her and occasionally scratching his head bashfully during her small speech. Before long, he's finished with his first bottle and searching for an answer to her question,

Walt: You must be new here. There's a few different clubs, dive bars in the city as a whole. There's the one that all the cool kids go to, they also do quite a bit of hard drugs down there. Matter o' fact I think someone I know might be there right now... Anyhoo, then you have the sorta nice places, then the completely horrible bars and then this place. Nobody here talks to each other, the bands suck and uh...the beer's good. So I guess there's that.

Seeing that Walt's beer is gone, and hoping to return the favor from earlier, Amelia orders him another drink and says;

Amelia: A club for all the cool kids, huh? Well, since I'm a card-carrying member of Infinite, it's about time I abuse my new power. If you know somebody there, all the better!

Not bothering to think about whether or not she's a negative influence on her new friend, Amelia downs the rest of her beer. Before ordering another one, she quickly adds;

Amelia: It'd be smart to get a good buzz going, as you never want to be entirely sober when crashing a party.

Walt begins to chug the newest beer that has arrived.

Walt: You're right! We should totally crash the party that those prancy, lack-a-daisy fucks next invite me to! 'Oh Walter, sorry we ran out of invitations.' 'Oh Walt, sorry mate, must've lost yours in the mail.' I've had enough of that! No more!

Walt slams the beer down, he didn't quite know who Amelia was but she did make his feel passionate, something that had been missing in his life. Then his brain turned over and put 2 and 2 together. Eric Quillington, Amelia Florentine... Oh shit, he had gone from being less-known shy bassist of 'arcades' to drinking buddies with the newest fucking member of Infinite. His eyes widened, he opened his mouth then shut it quickly.

Walt: Wait, wait. You're in Infinite? You're that new girl they picked up?

Amelia: Oh, you didn't know? Well, apparently, Mr. Quillington had the bright idea of bringing an inexperienced musician on-board. I think it's fucking stupid of him, but I'm not complaining.

At this precise moment, the bartender goes to the bathroom, confident that nobody would be stupid enough to steal his sub-par booze. Two seconds later, Amelia returns to her seat with a small cooler full of bottles.

Amelia: Let's roll.

Walt Hannigan was not a lucky man in any stretch of the word. Some musicians were blessed with guitar skills, some were blessed with instant fame and success. Some were born rich. Walt Hannigan was none of these, he was the Socially Awkward, Partially Drunk, Unlucky Kid who never really got the concept of kissing quite right and only got laid when a chick needed to make a mistake.

As he looked at Amelia, holding the cooler of Beer, something broke inside of him. His shy exterior still there but that social awkwardness began to suffer cracks, he knew it was a mistake...he knew damn well but looking at her changed that feeling to "Not giving a fuck."

He stood from the bar stool and pointed straight to her.

Walt: Let's Boogie.

Lugging a moderately heavy case of booze through a cold, damp street with a complete stranger was not a task most woman were crazy enough to perform. Amelia was not most girls.

Amelia: You seem like a pretty shy guy, Walt. I promise, by the end of the night I'll have beaten that trait out of ya. I'm gonna teach you how to live!

After another moment of walking with a swagger in her step, she stops and asks;

Amelia: We're going in the wrong direction, aren't we?

Walt nodded quietly, a fact he tried to point out but hesitated due to the fact that he didn't want to break Amelia's spirit.

Walt: We've been walking in the wrong direction for the last ten minutes...since we left the Bar actually. You'll know the Polo Club when you see it. It's surrounded by douchebags...all the time.

Walt chattered his teeth, he tried to ignore her previous comment about breaking his 'shyness' but that was impossible. He had been shy for twenty-two years and the upcoming years had no chance of being different.

Walt: Yeah...we should probably turn around.

Amelia: Ah. Fantastic. Let's get to it, bud!

The strides in her steps were now slightly shambolic, due to her having just consumed a fifth bottle. This does nothing to stop her ranting to Walt.

Amelia: - so then he says to me, "You play keyboards like a motherfucker, we'd really like you in the band". And I reply, "Listen, Infinite is a shit band, what makes you think I'd want to contribute to all that's wrong in the world?" So then he-

She cuts herself off as she feasts her eyes on the 'cool' club for the first time. Now staring at it, Amelia couldn't help but wonder why she didn't notice such a tacky-lit place in the first place. Inside and outside the club are various, as Walt put it, 'douche-bags'. The only person who doesn't seem like he quite belongs is a skinny young lad who somehow managed to get lost on the way to Glamazon's house.

Eric Quillington (to drunken idiot): Yes, YES, I'm very fucking aware of the fact that you've never been this messed-up in your life! That's fantastic, champ. Believe me, I've been there. Now, please, tell me how to get back onto the highway. I don't want to hurt you.

Walt listened to Amelia's story intently, before noticing Eric Quillington standing around the club.

Walt: Holy shit! Ain't that the Infinite front-man A.K.A. your boss!? It's all coming full-circle! FULL-CIRCLE!

Walt wasn't just watching Amelia get slammed, he had quite a few beers on his way to the Club and god knows he wasn't the best at drinking.

Walt: This is like uh...Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese! We must've gone back in time, to Infinite's formation and now we have to...fuck Eric Quillington to save Space and Time? Or was it to stop Arnold? Shit, I gotta rent that again.

Amelia: Fucking Eric Quillington? Walt, are you crazy? He's dating Glamazon, the chick with the axe and psychotic behavior.

Upon hearing Walt scream about circles and Terminators, Eric walks away from Drunken Fucktard to see what all the commotion is about. As he's a rock-star, strange things happen to him nearly ever day. Because of this, he barely even considers the mind-boggling coincidence of meeting up with Amelia in such a fashion.

Eric: People in this town suck something fierce, let me tell you. As long as your friend isn't around here, him and I will get along just fine. ANYWAYS; hello, good sir, my name is Eric Quillington.

He extends his hand for a shake, briefly forgetting his quest to find the highway.

It sounds too simple to be true, but consider the Great Wall of China, if you will: one stone at a time, man. That's all. One stone at a time. But I've read you can see that motherfucker from space without a telescope."

Meeting insane hot chick? Check. Meeting huge rock star and shaking his hand? Check. Getting drunk and almost vomiting? Check.

Walt's drunken adventure checklist was nearing completion.

Walt: Nice to meet you Mr. Quillington, how come you're here and stuff? This city kinda blows if you haven't not-

Walt almost vomited but kept it down.

Walt:...noticed.

Eric: I have noticed. Just got lost, is all. My GPS system has a grudge against me, so it's not very reliable. This town is slowly killing me, but it's made better by the fact that I'm currently having a conversation over Twitter with RYAN ROSS HERNANDEZ!

He looks around at the drunken fratboys with a happy expression on his face, hoping to have caused feelings of awe. However, the only noise is the retching sound of a kid unable to hold his tequila. Irritated, he turns back to Walt.

Eric: Anyways, I'd best be off. I was supposed to be at Glamazon's house about... five hours ago. So I'm a little late. Next time I'll just take the godamned private jet, as I'm awful at this whole 'driving' business. Before I go, though; if Amelia takes you to some uncomfortable or ungodly place during the drunken charades you'll likely endure, then you can just call me. Here's my number. Oh, and, a few milligrams of crack-cocaine. It'll help with the buzz.

After scribbling out his cell number on a spare bit of paper, and grabbing a bag of what looks to be white powder from his coat pocket, he gives Walt the items and bounds off to destinations unknown.

Amelia: So, ready to enter the fray?
