Kais mother looks right at Faith and raises a single derisory eyebrow to her. She looks back at Kai. "Another one, son? I thought a...rock star...like you would have your own place to take your whores back to. I put up with your shagging in my house for long enough." Kai shakes his head at his mother's reaction and looks at Faith with an apologetic expression. He squeezes her hand gently. "Nah...nah mum..it's not like that. Faith's my girlfriend. I wanted you to meet her." he smiles a little. It was strange how polite Kai was when talking to his mother. She was the only person he was like this around.

Mrs Rollins looks down at Faith's hand and rolls her eyes. She turns and walks back inside this house. "And if she thinks that cheap sweater can hide her tramp stamps, she's even stupider than most of the poor girls you've been in." Kai shakes his head and looks at Faith with pleading eyes. "I'm sorry," he mouths, walking back inside the house with her and closing the door behind them;

Kai feels angry at the way his mother is treating Faith. She was the first girl who meant anything to him other than being a quick fuck, and he was pissed that his mum couldn't see what it meant to him, what a massive step it was to bring her here. "mum....fucking hell, be nice yeah?" she rolls her eyes at him as well and smiles sarcastically at Faith. "why thank you...Faith was it? With a name like that...need I ask what you do? I imagine wearing a sweater's a bit more than you wear at...work, innit?" Kai sighs and shakes his head.

Kai shakes his head at his mother. In his mind, Faith was just putting a brave face on it, he knew his mother's insults could be cutting and hard to hear. "Faith's pretty successful, actually mum. She works hard and does a hell of a lot behind the scenes." his mother starts to set the table. "That's nice dear," she says sarcastically, dismissing Faith's profession off the bat. She looks at her again. "So...Faith...American and tattooed huh...? What do you want in my Kai?" she glares at her.

Faith's answer makes Mrs Rollins smile a little. She puts the towel in her hand over her shoulder and turns to Faith. "I bet you can't...change....your physical appearance, dear. But the fact you raped your own skin with those awful...awful drawings tells me all I need to know about you and the sort of person you are, right?" She smirks. Kai shakes his head again and walks to the middle of the room, standing a few yards from his mother. "You know, mum....I brought Faith here more in hope than anything else, because I hoped you might have changed. Not everyone can fit into your little image of what a woman should be, Not everyone wants to be a house wife. Faith is an amazing girl with an amazing future. You know something? You should be more accepting of people I love." He sits down.

When Kai sees Faith turn, he shakes his head and quickly follows her towards the door. He jogs a little to catch up to her, putting his arm on her shoulder. He knew this would be hard, and he knew his mum would be a dick to them, but he never expected Faith to take it so hard. "Faith....wait, please babe." He puts his arms around her as he stands at the front door. "I'm sorry. I should never have brought you here," he says quietly. It was hurting Kai as much as it was Faith at the moment. She meant a hell of a lot to him...and he had just accidentally admitted that he loved her. He shakes his head and kisses her cheek. "Shall we just go? I'm sorry. Really I didn't think she would be as bad when she realised how serious this was." He strokes Faith's arm. "Besides, you know I love all your tattoos, and your career. Fuck her, it doesn't matter what she thinks."

Kai gently rubs Faith's shoulders as he stands and looks at her. He smiles a little, trying to make her feel better. He could tell she was hurting, and he had never seen Faith like this before. Normally, Faith took everything in her stride and let nothing get to her, but she seemed more vulnerable right now. Kai hugs her tightly. "I know...I know, me too," he says with a little nod. He shakes his head at her. "You ruined nothing, love. It's this asshole in here that ruined it. You were perfect." He holds her hand and smiles at her. "Let's go, love. You mean more to me anyway." He meant it as well. He would choose Faith over his mother any day, and after how she had treated her tonight, Kai didn't want to be anywhere near his mother.

Kai sort of liked the fact he had seen Faith like this now. She had seen him at his lowest the night he thought his band had fucked up their gig in Glasgow, and now he was getting to see another side of her. Were they now that comfortable around each other? Kai hoped so. He watches her as she composes herself and rolls up the sleeves of her sweater. He smiles and looks down at the work on her arms, before he copies her, showing off his own ink again. "There we go...much better," Kai chuckles. He shakes his head gently. "No, thank you for coming here and trying. It means a lot to me," Kai says before they kiss gently. It was so different to how they had been in the start when they first met, but Kai didn't mind. In fact, he loved how they had grown together like this. It felt more natural than what other people had. He nods and smiles. "Sounds like an idea, love. Come on." He patts her butt gently and opens the door for her. Before he closes it, he turns and looks inside. "Mum....you're a fuckin' cunt, love," Kai calls in before slamming the door behind him as hard as he can.

Kai smiles when Faith does at last. Seeing her upset makes him feel bad, especially since it was he who brought her here in the first place. He smiles a little at her when she touches his tattoos. They were the big defining feature of Kai, and it was nice to have someone who appreciated them rather than thinking he was some sort of loser for having them inked onto himself. He laughs when she praises him. "You know me, love. I just tell it like it is, innit?" He smirks. "Besides, she is a cunt. I'm done with her now, got my girl here." He puts his arm around her shoulder and kisses her head. "There's a pub just up here. Fancy it?"

Kai smiles when she agrees to going to the pub. It had been the place he really came of age. He had his first pint there, played his first gig there, picked up his first girl there. It was everything about his life in a way, and it would be cool to share that with Faith. "Only if you have a pint of ale though," he teases her. He smiles down at her. She seemed a lot happier now, and Kai was happy when she was. It was one of his main concerns these days, that Faith was always happy. When she asks the question, he freezes for a second. He had meant it, but he hadn't even said it to Faith yet, and he wasn't sure how she would take it. He scratches his head and coughs as he thinks. "I did...yeah. Is that...you know, cool with you?" Kai had never loved anyone before. He didn't really know how these things worked.
