ABOUE JIMMY MERCHANT

Age: 23

BORN: in the sunny coast of Santa Cruz California. Jimmy Merchan

Lives: Hawaii

Plays: Vocals/Guitar/Ukulele

Acts: Jimmy & The Sharks (high school) / The Sunny Merchant Band (disbanded)

Sounds like: Jack Johnson, Jimmy Buffet, Tom Petty



BIO

Jimmy Merchant was born in Santa Cruz California. As a child growing up by the ocean Jimmy was introduced
to The Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet, and that relaxing easy going trop rock scene. It wasn't until Jimmy was
a freshmen in high school when he started his first band, Jimmy & The Sharks . They garnered enough
attention doing small gigs at local parties that they got radio play for a few months. The Sharks disbanded after
High School.

The Sunny Merchant Band/ Death of father...
Jimmy took to the message of Jimmy Buffet and moved to Hawaii and attended University. As a freshmen he met
Sunny Clive Mawaha Together they formed The Sunny Merchant Band a two piece trop rock band. With music taking
up most of his time Jimmy began to fall away from his studies. But things took a turn for the worst when Jimmy's
dad died suddenly back home in Santa Cruz.

Heart broken, and at a crossroads Jimmy left Hawaii and the Sunny Merchant band. After the funeral of his father, Jack received his
fathers assets of 250 thousand dollars and a message that read. "Jimmy, follow your soul, follow your heart to the sea of life..." With
a new energy Jimmy packed his bags and moved back to Hawaii to pursue a full music career.

Jimmy Merchant Solo: Present Day
Jimmy Merchant began performing last year at local beach clubs, and events. He soon started making a name for himself as "that talented beach bum"
Partly because Jimmy would often sleep on the beach.

Currently Jimmy is working on his untitled debut single. He also is performing around the island and at various beach festivals. A note
from Jimmy Merchant:

"Hello from the beaches of paradise! I just want to say hello and welcome you to my trop rock ventures! My goal is to play positive music with a tropical
twist! I hope you enjoy my upcoming single! Thanks you!

1. Ocean/Zen: A trance like song that mixes both acoustic guitar and the sounds of the ocean. It's a song about finding peace amongst yourself during these tough times. Also it is a song about the harmony and innocents of the ocean." It's in the glory of the blue that led me to this place."

John-You guys sound interesting. Bring in an ambient/Brian Eno type quality and it could be perfect chillout music.

Well my ever changing name changing debut album, OCEAN/ZEN is gonna be a soft, laid back beach vibe. Why wouldn't it?
It's basically beach meditation tunes. I am gonna add some oceanic sounds, and stuff to had to that vibe. I really want this
album to be an escapist album. Like those old Paul Simon albums where you just feel good!

Some of my influences are Jack Johnson, Buffet, Paul Simon, and that soft side of Tom Petty you hear sometimes! I really want
to keep the album simple but lyrically mesmerizing. I'm recording it with and under RHR. Can't wait to reveal more!
