As 2011 becomes a hot year for young talents all over the world, Desiree Shapiro, the unapologetic, edgy, and beautiful American/Dutch star Desiree Shapiro, arose in February with her right hand man, Mr Night known as DJ Night enforcing a new 'House Music' movement. They proved to be a force to be reckon with when Desiree's debut single Killer In Disguise became a mega hit in many countries including the United States, United Kingdom, and much of Europe too, not mentioning cracking the Top 20 and peaking at number 3. Since then Desiree has been appearing all over promoting her debut album entitled 'Guilty Pleasures' that is a first class scenario in having a CD that could remain strong on the dance floor, the radio, and on a serious standpoint of being a electronic album that also explores into more underground music styles like Ambient House, and Hi-NRG that has plenty of substance and depth. Songs like Killer In Disguise [a song about the outcomes of trusting strangers in night life, that ends in murder, inspired by the famous death case of Natalee Holloway; increasing awareness with trusting strangers which is a leading causes in female deaths], Zero To Nothing [A song about finally going from nothing to being on top of the world, but at the same time feeling like you are nothing because you feel like you've finally accomplished a life dream but whats left of this life?] not to mention more serious topics and other topics more common to a mainstream ear but at the same time maintaining a unique sounding voice, production and lyrics that show us that Desiree wants to continue having her own sound, not sounding similar to any other female artist on the radar, especially with the Ambient House . The album also includes huge collaborations with the likes of Tisha Jackson in an infections, and aggressive song, or the slow and powerful song with Ryan Ross Hernandez and the hidden 'Killer In Disguise Remix' with Glamazon. With a voice like Desiree's as well as her producing and writing talent, her right hand man handling the creative work with Desiree and her great fame achieved, one may realize Desiree either needs to go hard or go home. And trust me, Desiree ISN'T going home. May 22nd is the day..
