As most may know, Desiree Shapiro's debut album entitled 'Guilty Pleasures' is slated for a May 29th release being announced just about a week ago after Desiree's debut single, and first single off the album the song 'Killer In Disguise' touched the platinum mark in the United States not to mention catching many certifications in European countries. Fans waited anticipating the single off of her album and some speculated for weeks that the next single off the album would indeed be Live Your Life, but then rumors circulated that 'I Know I'm Wrong' featuring Ryan Ross Hernandez would be released second. But rumors are put to rest as Live Your Life is being premiered and released to radio today!
Live Your life, is a smooth pulsating and infectious song that that encourages anyone, gay, straight, black or white to live their life they want to. Despite the way the world wants everyone to be shaped. The song encourages people to break the rules to live life to the fullest and not to care what onlookers, ease droppers and talkers like to speak (or criticize) about and just not to hold back. The track also shows listeners that Desiree's voice is just as addicting as the dubstep beat sizzling across a slow, mid tempo bassline, featuring very ambient driven sounds making the song sound sassy, atmospheric and completely bad ass. Another stand out about the song is the bridge because its comes out of no where, sort of like an ambush as the beat for the bridge picks up and is brought to another level with Desiree's free spirited lyrics coming out of the blue as Shapiro turns her voice into a whispery soubrette tone singing the lyrics over the bridge repeatedly: "I'll grab her head, and kiss her lips, I need a drug and shes my fix. [Radio Edit: "I'll grab your head, and kiss your lips, I need some love and your my fix"]. Des shows just how free spirited and crazy she wants to live her life not worrying about all of lifes downfalls and trial and tribulation that continously goes on throughout ones lifetime. Although a laid back and chilled out song and beat, the message to go crazy and be yourself soars highly throughout the song and could mean an anthem for any group of people who believe in living their life in the fast lane!
In the end, not only does the priceless production turn this song into what could be a huge musical gem, but so does Desiree's voice, and ability to become 'one' with the song mixing her emotion, and smooth vocals over the track. This song could be another smash hit for the Netherland singer..
Do you believe 'The Movement' has gotten another smash hit under their record, tell us what you think!
