The Difference was founded in early 2007 by all current members as a sort of creative project and after playing a few local shows they quickly rose as the neighborhood rockstars, this came with benefits like discounts and alot of attention from the opposite sex. To get to know the band better they released a short bio about each member because after all once you dissect something you know it much better.


Christian's Bio: Born March 13th 1989, Christian was raised on the west coast of Michigan for 6 years without a problem... or so he thought. Lets start before birth, Christian's mom was only 15 when she hooked up with his father not to be confused with his dad who took care of him all his life. When he was conceived his mom and his dad got together, while pregnant she married him. Fast forward six years and Christian has no idea how bad his family situation is, he has no idea about anything and doesn't understand that his family only has one or two real family members. He then has a traumatic event take place, his mother cheated on his dad. A divorce followed. Custody was split and he moved to Fruitport with his dad. Where he met all current band members. His mom started seeing the man she cheated with. She got pregnant after a few months and gave his new brother away to his grandma and was forced to call him uncle. Now hes 11 things were getting kinda bad. He was misbehaving alot and fighting with others. His mom and her boyfriend split up and they visit him one last time. Thats when he finds out that his dad is really him. The drunk that fought with his mom everyday in front of him and his sister. His world just fell apart in front of him, he starting doing drugs at age 13 in 7th grade. He was a mess and following in his fathers footsteps. He was depressed as well and had nothing to hope for so he thought. Then he got a call from the girl he just so happened to like alot. They had dated before and she just asked him "What happened to you Christian? Your not the kid you were before. The one everyone loved. The one we came to if we had a problem or if we needed some entertainment. The kid I know you can be, the one I love." Following an emotional conversation Christian turned him self around. He fixed his life, as well as formed a band with long time friend Adam Nichols. He also began a relationship with that girl and they are now happily married. Two songs have been written in direct relation to the turn around of his life.

Adam's Bio: Born January 23rd 1990, Adam grew up in a rather large family. Problem was that he was born 17 years later than the youngest one. He was the last child his mother and father had before they split when he was very little. Adam grew up feeling neglected of attention and was always striving for praise. He went to Fruitport all his life and started playing guitar at the age of 7. He hated his father more than anything and wrote alot of songs about his hate. Always trying to be number one and on everyone's mind he attempted to take the spotlight from anyone at anything he could. But not always to his success. He joined The Difference in an attempt to regain his lost popularity after an incident at the last battle of the bands when he and his old band that he had with Sam, the current drummer lost to a group. Adam thought they deserved the win so during the final song performed by the victors he pulled a Kanye and got onstage. He punched the lead singer and had to be pulled off stage. He has an on and off again relationship with his girlfriend and use to suffer from vicadin abuse. Clean now with the new band, This is the difference he is making.

Codey's Bio: Born February 12th 1989, Codey grew up in a relatively normal lifestyle. He went to Fruitport all his life as well and has been friends with Adam forever. He had more money in comparison to the other guys and used it for guitar lessons. He got extremely good and played the national anthem Hendrix style at the first football game of his senior year. That was the first time most had even heard of him. He was quiet and didn't like new people very much, he even dated girls from other districts. He has been clean his whole life and never really had problems. Except when Christian invited him to hangout and he started doing drugs recreationally. When Christian got clean Codey followed, he was after all mostly a follower and thats how he ended up in the band just by being a follower.

Sam's Bio: Born July 16th 1989, Sam was grew up with a single mom. He was picked on his entire life and always degraded. This caused the hate in his heart which also almost led to a suicide in 2005. Adam and Christian walked in his house and found him outcold with a oxycotin bottle near him. They rushed him to the hospital. He went back to oxycotin for the next year until he discovered his talent as a drummer in early 2006 and quickly progressed. Now he is along with the others a neighborhood legend.


Early Years (2007-2011)

In the early years of the band, it was just a creative outlet and none of them ever thought they would be as good as they are. They practiced almost every weekend and became really good. The decided to have a small concert/party in Adam's backyard. Everyone in the school showed up to hear them play and to have a good time. When time came to play the came on stage, Codey first, Christian, Adam, and Sam. Codey went first to get the best reaction seeing is how earlier that year he played the national anthem at a football game. As they played their classmates were in awe. After the last song they played, they announced they were playing at senior graduation and the crowd went berserk. At graduation a slideshow of pictures selected by all students played. After everyone was called up the Superintendent announced four names one more time "Please welcome Christian, Adam, Codey, and Sam back on stage" They came from the back off the stage dressed in white formal outfits to set the mood. The stage darkened and a small light flashed on a piano. Christian sat down and played a sweet melodic intro and sang the song Behind The Scenes. The first song wrote by him, about his recovery and about his girlfriend. He stood after the song was over grabbed the microphone "Taylor come up here please" She did and he dropped to his knee "Will you marry me?" He asked she just grabbed and hugged him in front of the crowd. The performance was great to them. They spent the next couple of years playing in Michigan and finally saved up enough for their demo and released it.
