BLOG UPDATE – 16 DECEMBER, 2011 ‘HAPPY HOLIDAYS’Hey beautiful people, season’s greetings :D So it’s been a super awesome first year as a professional musician, I’ve had so much fun it’s unreal. Being a signed artist is so incredible, it’s been so much better than I could have ever expected. I loved working on my debut album and I just want to say a huuuuuuge thank you to everyone who bought it or listened to it or even just acknowledged its existence. I’m so amazed that it’s gone multi-platinum and apparently it continues to sell in great numbers. The reaction has been so mind blowing, it’s just crazy to me. I also released two singles from the album, Paint Me A Picture (feat. Hayden) and I’d Wait Forever, both of those singles were well received and both peaked in the top 5 which is again something I could have only dreamt of this time last year. And also I’ve had the chance to meet some amazing people along the way, when I toured with Electrodeath in the US, the crowds were amazing, although they weren’t really there to see me they always gave a great reaction to my music and for that I would like to thank you guys, I also got to tour in the UK alongside Katie Coyle, Eilidh Greene and my awesome friend Mandy Williams, it was great to have a best friend with me on the road and the crowds were amazing, Katie, Eilidh and Mandy were amazing and the UK as a whole were amazing, I’ll definitely be going back ‘across the pond’ in the new year that’s for sure. I also want to say a big thanks to a couple of people who have helped me out a lot since moving to Los Angeles, you know when I first came out here it was so big and scary for me, it felt like a million miles away from my little hometown in Tennessee but there was two people in particular that took their time to make me feel at home here in LA, It’s been awesome to get to know you both, thanks Izzy and Hayden for making me feel at home, I was worried about feeling homesick and a little lonely being so far away from my family but you helped me to avoid feeling homesick and always make me smile. Thank you both :) The future is kind of an unknown right now, I’m just enjoying a little time off during the holidays but I’ll definitely be planning something early in the new year and hopefully even a follow-up to my debut album will come later on in the year, I’m always writing new music so hopefully they’ll be a wealth of material to choose from for my second album. There may be one more single to be released from my debut album in January or February but we’re not sure about that yet, but fingers crossed :D And finally, the holiday season is upon us, it’s my favourite time of year, it’s a little scary that this will be my first Christmas away from home but I’m really looking forward to spending it in Los Angeles, it always brings happiness and even inspires some songwriting, so I think that wraps things up from me, my final update of 2011, it’s been an amazing year and all that’s left to say is, Happy Holidays everyone, I hope you have a wonderful time, thanks for listening, I love you all. ~ Ellie ~ xoxo |
