The RNB singer that got severel influences from Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, Arentha Franklin and her grandmother takes on the world with her romantic, powerful, strength woman ablities and giving each woman or even men the power to better loveships and life. Chanel just released her single, ' Last Tear' and woman are already calling the truthful ballad, ' The Ladies Athem of the Year' selling over 100,000 in just a week of being released; Chanel said, " I have to start from the bottom to get to the top.." Getting nationwide attention from Jason Smith from her new project, The Maganits, got attention from heavyweight label Tric-Jam Records and now confirm to perform at the IMA'S. Ebony sits down and talk with Chanel on the recent success. Tell me did you ever dream of success this way? Girl, as a child, no. I just wanted to sing girl, just get on stage and sing my ass off! I wanted to be this big RNB singer and inspire people around the world with ballads, but hey- God blessed me and I'm shouting, YESSSSS LORD! (laughs) Where did you get inspiration from for such a powerful single? You know, my mother always said, " Dont cry on somebody that's not worth it child!" and I will always will remember that because when I was little, I use to cry off things that could have made me stronger you know? BUT! Look at me na, I'm a influence woman that influence that song by happiness. Live life and be happy. What is it about blues and RNB that you love?
GLAD! You asked me that question. Just the feel of it girl. You can go thought anythin', but if you pop it a RNB joint; it seems your whole mood can change. The power and the aggestive of it, the feelings, the emotions in a song, wow wow wow! It can make you a whole new person. It's a unique sound, it's sound that makes you dance, cry and think. Honey child, honey child, you dont find that in too many genres and I grow up listening to that, so it's in my heart.
Did you know you had the voice you had?
Oh my! No, it shocked the hell out of me girl! I always thought, you can sing, but Chanel, damn girl! You can SANGGGG! and I had to gain a lot of confidence and a lot of training to learn to put it in control and nature it, teach it. I'm so glad I did..
What made you love music more?
Simple. Music. Music made me love music more. Simple as that.
Give me one word about you.
I will have to say, fearless. All woman and all things should see theirself POWERFULLLL! Who else will see it? Stand proud, with confidence and that uh! everyone needs, and someone will look over and say, " That chick right there! Is FIERCCEEE baby and no one cant tell ha nothin'!" (giggles)

YESS! I got me some Glamazon- that girl is FEARLESS, that Ax can go for DAYSS honey. Alicia Lena, amazing artist. Brittany Knoxville, yes yes yes! I love Teen Titans, such a talented group. Dominic Brown, lovin' his song Addication. And old school blues my mom use to spin back in the day.
